I was getting 70 mpg as long as I wasn't at interstate speeds. 55+ mph was where the decline in mpg started happening
That matches mine: 60mpg @ 60mph. If I drop below 60, the mileage starts climbing.

. . . . Best I ever got (avg as displayed on the dash) was 42-46, WTF? . . . .
My displayed avg right now is 42.8. During the summer, it was up to 43.6. With the cooler weather and winter formula fuel, I expected the drop. Come March, it'll start creeping back up. On back county roads I travel at about 55mph. On the toll road I set the cruise at 73mph. (speed limit is 70 and the Troopers don't care about 3 over) But with the occasional ass hat decides that he/she wants to be a buzz kill, triple digits become par for the course. (I also know where the Troopers will sit) If I could stay below 80mph, 45+mpg would be an easy feat.

So, if I were to guess, you're probably spending a pretty good amount of time North of 75mpg.

Looks like they are rated at 58hp. That is a big problem for me. Honda can do better than that.
It's a problem for me too... except I'm not riding the spec sheet I'm riding the bike......then it's no problem at all. Thing must have a crank like a flat tracker. It just pulls. Bike is not lacking.

Back when KTM came out with the Super Duke GT it checked all the right boxes on the spec sheet. Wow it had to be the perfect bike. Test rode one and rated it just BELOW an FZ1! Got a used one with 1000 miles on it that a guy traded on a Ducati and proved to myself the bike was not the sum of the spec sheet, it was rather a disappointment. The S10 is underpowered by the spec sheet but I know of a forum member that can outrun a GS with his. The NC750X is lacking on paper but good on the street. I can't wait for the opportunity to catch someone by surprise riding their sport bike when I'm on the grocery getter.

No....typically a mix of around town (30-40 mph) and highway (65-70 mph). Maybe I'm confused...you stated that you get 60 mpg at 60 mph but then just said that your displayed avg is currently 42.8 (which jives with my avg). I suppose if you're looking at realtime mpg, it may bounce to 60 mpg (rolling downhill with a tailwind) but that is certainly not an average, correct? Not trying to call bullshit but I am trying to figure out how folks here are stating that they're getting 50, 60, or more MPG on a 2 cyl 600 lb bike with our typical fat asses on it. Hell, on a good day I'm lucky to get 50 MPG on my little WR250!

My avg is 42.8 because most of my time is spent above 60mph. Sometimes way above 60. But with the cruise set at 60, the real time mileage is right at 60mpg. If I set it at 40ish, mileage goes upper 60s into low 70s. The other day, with a headwind, I was getting 26. 6mpg. On the way home with the tailwind, I was getting 72mpg as 73mph. Kinda gives you an idea of the wind speed.

Just to confirm at some point we switched from mileage on an NC750X to mileage on a S10? Otherwise there are a lot more NC750 owners on this forum than I thought.

Back to the NC750X. I'm not praising it as the end all be all but it's a really good bike. Sure if you push it hard on a bumpy stretch of twisty road you'll find the suspension's limits but that's most Japanese bikes. There is a tight downhill 15mph S turn I really like and I always look at my speedo as I'm exiting the last corner. I'm usually at 40-45, I was at 52 on the NC today. Surprised me, A LOT! And btw the speedo is pretty much dead nuts on. No it doesn't wind out to 10 grand and 140mph. Neither does the S10. I am having fun on this thing and I never expected that. Plus it's so smooth and well.....nice!

Gotta say, you've got me intrigued. I've got to move on to a lighter bike, and the DCT aspect has me interested. A reliable, comfortable, easy to ride bike fits the mold. The only things that made me hesitate were the low power and small tank. At this stage in my life, the speed days are behind me, as are the 500 mile days. I'm find myself becoming very interested in the 750X.

Forget the spec sheet it's not lacking power. The one thing about it is it's so smooth you find yourself zipping along way past pull me over speeds. As for fuel averaging 60mpg a 3.7 gallon tank is fine. Sure I wish it was a little bigger but 180 miles before reserve isn't terrible. A friend who was not a fan and I swapped bikes today. After he rode it his first words were, "this thing is nice". That was high praise from a naysayer. So far I am still pleasantly surprised at how good this bike is. Taking it for a run down the highway tomorrow just to see how it goes.
