How old are you Super Ten rider?

72 next month. Riding and caring for 3 bikes now, the SuperT, and nice Triumph Trophy 800 and a Yamaha Virago / Dniepr sidecar rig. 18 months ago I took the SuperT on an Iron Butt ride to visit my son in Denver - 1500 miles in 35 hours. Bike was perfect - comfortable and reliable.

Any electrical engineers out there 110/220/440 ?

I have much experience with all voltages 3 phase power and control. Also have installed dozens of VFDs, many for smaller motors where I could use 120V or 230V single phase to run a 230V 3 phase motor. I have 3 machines in my workshop with 3 phase motors running on single phase supply...

How old are you Super Ten rider?

71 Y/O, the Super Tenere is my 43rd bike. Tenere shares garage with a Triumph Tiger 800 and an older Yamaha with a Dnepr sidecar. In Oct 2019 I rode the Tenere from Richmond to Denver in 35 hrs to get an Iron Butt 'Bun Burner 1500' certificate. Easy ride on the ST!

    Error Code Confirmations

Working on my 2012 Super Tenere with about 30,000 miles. A few months ago did the clutch and brake fluids and used my jumper cable (originally from my FJR) to cycle the ABS system during the brake bleed. No issues until recently when ABS light came on steady a few times. Was able to clear off...

Help me Keep the Super Tenere

My 2012 ST came with high quality 'highway' pegs mounted to the front crash bars. I also have several Airhawk cushions and switch them around from one bike to another (also have an FJR). What works for me is using those highway pegs every 30 min or so to stretch out my legs and push my butt...

Brake caliper (rear) will not reassemble! HELP!!!

Thanks Eric. Agree with your torque arm (removal) process. However, it is remarkable how easily this caliper was removed - I had the wheel off the bike in about 2 min! Stuart

Yes I did (#22). Every bike with ABS has a similar disc. Thnx, Stuart

Brake caliper (rear) will not reassemble! HELP!!!

GOT IT. Took the caliper apart by removing the two bolts. Installed the caliper frame with the axle bolt and the torque rod bolt, then re-installed the pads and clips and bolted it all back together. Just surprised that it came apart so easily without disassembly of the caliper. Thanks to...

Brake caliper (rear) will not reassemble! HELP!!!

Just replacing the rear Michelin Road 5 - after 12,400 miles - with another. Put the bike ('12 ST) on my lift, pulled off the rear wheel, and took it over to my friend's place to mount and balance the new tire. This morning I reassembled the dampers, added a bit of grease to the splines, and...

    Saddlesore1000 Monday

My 2012 (Gen 1) reads fully 6 mph over the actual GPS speed at 70. 75 indicated is 69 GPS. I've got 2 GPS units so I only look at them. At end of Sept I did an Iron Butt 'Bun Burner 1500', from Richmond, VA to just short of Denver, about 1600 miles in 35 hours. First day was 5AM departure...

    Trade fjr for tenere

I have a 2008 (black) FJR with 70,000 miles. One year ago bought a 2012 ST. As much as I love the FJR I do find it 'cramped' for my 6'0 frame, and my left knee gets painful after only 30 min on the FJR. The ST is more comfortable, esp with good highway pegs attached to the engine protection...

Rushing, tire plugs, and TPMS vs Mitas E07 failure

Checks . . . I have TPMS systems from Hawks Head (western Canada) on both my FJR and Super Tenere. The ST has the slightly newer 'Moto Track Cruiser 2' model which has a rechargeable display unit and smaller stem units. They recommend NOT using with rubber stems so I changed to steel stems...

    Recent long-distance ride

I've done a number of Iron Butt Assoc 1000+ mile rides in the years since 2002 on a variety of sport-touring bikes including my FJR. Last week I had an extra day off from my p/t teaching so decided to take a ride and visit my son in Denver (from Richmond, VA). I left Thursday very early...

I notice you are in central VA; I am just north of Richmond in Henrico Co. Have a 2012 ST with about 30K miles. (also an FJR) Did you ever find a suitable scanner? Have you ever checked / adjusted your valves. I'm looking for someone who has done it to look over my shoulder. . . . I...

    GpX Pro gear indicator

Yes, certainly. Red and Black for power, and this 12V can be easily sourced in a number of places. Aux fuseblock is one of them for +. The difficult connections were for the engine speed (using the crankshaft sensor) and the wheel speed (sourced at the ABS connections under the seat). Stuart
