2015 Yamaha Super Tenere 1200 ES, 31,000 miles
Ridiculously nice big adventure touring bike from Yamaha. This one is smooth, fast, good on gas (big tank) and rock solid reliable. It is incredibly comfortable with the electronic suspension and is set up for the long-haul. Want to take her...
Thanks for the offer, but I am southwest MO - though I used to live in St Louis in my younger days. I actually bought my S10 not far outside StL at a home near hwy 44 :) Rode her back home 3hrs in 100 degree July Missouri heat, whilst running a fever with what turned out to be Covid. That was a...
What did you find was the easiest method to remove the rear shock? I obviously don't want to get into the hydraulic system, so want take it out as a unit. Pretty much do all my own work on vehicles and, over the years, come to understand the first time I do something I will typically do it in...
Thanks for that link. I think I had started that thread some time ago and go completely turned around.
It looks like Racetech does offer a drop in (6022) spring, but many prefer the spacer method. Either way, I think I have a direction to go.
Racetech actually has a nice calculator telling you everything you would need for your style of riding and body weight, but I think it is currently set up for the standard 1200 and not the ES model. I sent them an email. We'll see what comes back! If there is anything useful I'll definitely post...
Thanks for the info! Are the spring and spacer off the Eibach shelf? When I search their site I only get hits for fork springs. *EDIT* I was on the setting for Fork Springs! :) I'm guessing I'd just reach out and ask for their guidance then?
I've read what I can on here over the course of time and am not really finding a straight answer on this one. I am 225lb and it is obvious (to me) the OEM spring is a little soft for those with my particular gravitational challenges.
Does anyone make a direct drop in replacement spring for the...
I don't remember why we parked like this. I think there were some bookend vehicles so we just filled in equally. This place is way out it the country in southwest Missouri. We weren't hindering anyone's ability to park :)
Oh I remember - my GS buddy told us we can't part too close! LOL
Put an aftermarket exhaust on my 2015 and the pannier frame is pushing the OEM cover into the new exhaust. Would anyone have an old OEM one lying around they’d send me for a nominal fee? I am only finding one aftermarket short option for $100 and an OEM for about half that. My plan is cut an OEM...
I think you said this from the get-go, but the EB complete harness may be overkill for this application due to the low draw of these lights, correct?
I still may get the full thing for future applications, but in the event I don’t the larger EB, I can probably get the Simple Aux cable (middle...
