JFYI, well i'm fully vaccinated and on the booster list, I just need to set up the appointment.
Last week Monday 7th I got sick, tested Thursday with a negative result so I'm thinking its just a flu.
Yesterday the 13th, I retested so I could return to work but still not feeling well. Test result positive.
Though similar to the flu symptoms wise Covid rubs you completely of energy. 1hr of light house hold work feels like a day of hard labor. Dizziness, light headed spells start once you try to do anything. Rest is all I seem to do even when it feels a lot better, its not.
All I can say is I'm very happy to have had my shots, I cannot imaging what it would be like without the boost from the vaccine in getting me through this.

That's my wife's complaint too. She's getting over the "covid cough", but still gets tired quickly. Don't be surprised if you start losing hair. They refer to it as "shedding". It's your body's response to the stress it went through. It's not a covid exclusive, but covid stresses the body badly. I recommend collagen peptide powder in your coffee or tea in the morning. It replaces lost biotin, and adds protein that your body needs.

EDIT: the hair loss/shedding is only temporary. It all depends on how hard your body was hit, as to when the shedding stops. I was lucky, my strength returned quickly, and I'm not sure that I shed at all.

Yes....that's crazy! Both my aunts caught the rona, both recovered quickly but they both experienced the hair loss.

I guess that's one side effect I won't have to worry about.

Yup, the only thing that might change is what vaccine version I get, if it ends up that there's more than one. I've "heard" that they're tweaking the current vaccine for different mutations. We'll see.

I saw a meme on Fakebook the other day showing two guys agreeing the virus was bullshit, and not dangerous. I have to admit that in the beginning I thought that politics were making it out to be worse that it was. But as the number of people I actually knew grew, that died from covid, I knew politics had nothing to do with the severity of the virus. I've never personally known anybody that died from "the flu" during my whole life. But . . . . with the virus . . . . in just a year . . . . different story.

The virus is real, and the vaccine will help keep you alive.

End of story.

I took it because my school required it and now I regret taking it because it was a waste of time to do in-person classes. My school is now requiring a booster which I could care less about since I'm not taking in-person classes. I am for the vaccine but for making people take it or get tested I am not. I spent some time looking at CDC statistics and it was clear that it very little difference. On the website, it even stated it does not provide complete protection and you can still get infected. They also mentioned wearing a mask but did not sight medical evidence to show how they are effective. I also spent some time looking the Washington DC website and they kept it to protect or save children's lives and again I looked the CDC statistics and it showed .9 per 100,00 require hospitalization under 12 and were not vaccinated.

I noticed that for people over 65+ it went way up but the CDC did not mention until recently if they had other complications. So in other words, they lied and my spidey sense went off. I kept thinking this is political but why? At the office, I work at five people who were vaccinated and double boosted got sick. I did not along with two others who had no vaccine and two others had. Everyone at my office is under 48 and it ok health other than being overweight including myself. I still have more to say on this topic but none of this adds up.

Also, my boss said, "screw your freedom, take the damn vaccine and save people's lives". I replied, "The numbers don't at up sir".

I’m no MSN adherent but that article is a waste. The abstract states there’s no evidence of any of the postulated side effects have occurred but then goes right ahead and lists imagined scenarios. To me the purpose of the article is to raise fear over imagined side effect scenarios. The authors weren’t even smart enough to include an accurate lead image. It depicts a double helix DNA strand in the vial whereas mRNA is a single strand molecule.

I consider myself a right leaning Libertarian, but as a scientist I despise the misrepresentation and twisted interpretation of scientific topics by both sides of the isle, and their armies of writers, particularly the right. Our only defense is as a public to become more scientifically literate. Politicians count on this lack of literacy to promote twisted narratives.

Frankly I don't buy that conspiracy. The weaknesses and strengths of the vaccines are already pretty well characterized. Many counties and communities, states, and countries are collecting, reporting and publishing their own data independent of the CDC. Ventura County, where I live, updates county data daily. I'm sure scores of other communities are doing the same. It's important to note that the CDC is not the sole proprietor of all covid vaccine or disease data, there are many local and international sources publishing data every day. How could anything the CDC has look much different than the data already out there from these localized sources, especially given that these sources serve as the "feedstocks" (if you will) of data the CDC is compiling?

Probably from the need to watch for saber toothed tigers trying to jump out and eat us, humans are wired to see what alarms us and potential conspiracies.
We as a species keep challenging the following two lines of thought:

Occams Razor = "the simplest explanation is usually the best one."

Hanson's Razor = "never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity"

I too have done my own research, and formed my own opinions. But, still, in the back of my mind I wonder: "is this information correct, and accurate?" This article claims this . . . . that article claims that. And since I am not a scientist, doctor, or even an EMT . . . . I have to decide which article makes the most sense. So far . . . . my decision(s) seems to correct/accurate. We'll see.

LOL... I knew before I posted it the article would get slammed regardless of content. Libs are soooo predictable.
The article and the citations seemed legit to me, but....it didn't come from CNN or the other 'truth' purveyors that so many rely on.

For the record, I have had 2 Astra Zeneca vaccinations, a Pfizer booster in November 2021 and a second Pfizer booster on 28/02/2022. The only reaction I had was the day after my second Astra Zeneca vaccination which wiped me out for 4 or 5 hours. I am immune suppressant due to the meds I take for psioratic arthritis and I am happy to trust in the medical experts if it lessens the chances of me getting a very serious illness.
Forget the conspiracy theorists who have nothing better to do with their lives, get the vaccine and help to eradicate this damn virus! I am 68 years of age, pretty fit, 6’2” and 12stone 10 pounds in weight, so not over weight at all. Do your friends and family a favour and get vaccinated!

Omicron has started its NZ sweep and our positive cases are around the 22000 per day mark.

NZ has 95% double vacced pop, yet the vaccine doesn't appear to have 'stopped' you getting C19 or 'slow' the spread as our Govt has been telling us since vacc roll out last year . The vacc may have done this for Delta but not Omicron, as like alot of whats happened around the world regardless if you are vacc'd or not Omicron isnt knocking the crap out of infected people. I do not know how unhealthy or immune comp people are fairing.

A snapshot of NZ + Omicron

Petsonally, I am about as far from a “lib” as you can get. Have never voted for one in fact. I guess you’re referring to someone else.
