Yep, on a normal oil change I just would dump the 4 quarts and call it a day. But with the new longer filter I did the actual measurement using the sight glass to the upper hash mark.Just a thought, wouldn't the longer filter mean that you'd need a little more oil than normal in there when you re-fill?
The extra oil required might just be enough to drop it under the threshold to trigger the light
I'm pretty sure he got ya'. Bimota strikes me as a person that knows how to use Google conversion. Hell, even I can. . . . and do.4 US quarts is 3.78 L.
Our oil here in the US generally sold in 2 ways by the quart or by the gallon (4 quarts).

I do remember well!! Unfortunately it did not take hold. I was in jr. high when we were learning the conversion. I was actually excited and wanted it to become the new standard. I am of the belief it was the oil embargo that killed it.Remember when the US tried to go metric in the '70s? Didn't go so well so we gave up.
One specific fail I remember was Shell stations (in my area at least) all started selling gas priced by the liter. People couldn't cost-compare (pretty important for buying gas in the '70s) so they stopped going there.
I literally still use a verse or two from this PSA from my childhood.
