Just a thought, wouldn't the longer filter mean that you'd need a little more oil than normal in there when you re-fill?
The extra oil required might just be enough to drop it under the threshold to trigger the light
Yep, on a normal oil change I just would dump the 4 quarts and call it a day. But with the new longer filter I did the actual measurement using the sight glass to the upper hash mark.
Since I knew I was going to measure it, I started with a previously opened jug (never again).

I'm pretty sure he got ya'. :) Bimota strikes me as a person that knows how to use Google conversion. Hell, even I can. . . . and do.
He's from Wales...... have you ever seen their road signs? I had pity on him trying to type all that gibberish into google translate must get tiresome. ;)

4 US quarts is 3.78 L.
Our oil here in the US generally sold in 2 ways by the quart or by the gallon (4 quarts).
or 5 gallon containers, or 55 gallon drums, or in bulk delivered right off the truck pumped into whatever container you choose.

Only time I had the oil light come on was because the wire going to sending unit had been cut. I was coming into a corner and a turtle was in my lane I hit the turtle it must have got airborne and nicked the wire. Light came on stayed on until I discovered the wire .Fixed wire and ordered a skid plate.

Remember when the US tried to go metric in the '70s? Didn't go so well so we gave up.

One specific fail I remember was Shell stations (in my area at least) all started selling gas priced by the liter. People couldn't cost-compare (pretty important for buying gas in the '70s) so they stopped going there.

I literally still use a verse or two from this PSA from my childhood.

I do remember well!! Unfortunately it did not take hold. I was in jr. high when we were learning the conversion. I was actually excited and wanted it to become the new standard. I am of the belief it was the oil embargo that killed it.

Good news is when I am in my garage no one can tell me what system I have to use. So metrics it is!!
