Yukon to Flathead Lake early august

Riding to flathead lake early august from Yukon for a family gatheirng. Any recommended "not to miss rides". I have not been to Montana in years and only in the winter to Whitefish skiing. Thansk in advance of any good rides around Flathead.

Nice trip. I wanna go ;^) Here is a GMap that could be a route. After filtering through this area I have come to the conclusion that where ever you go you will miss something else as nice or better. Don't know of any events but they should be at their peak during August. Don't miss Liard River Hot Springs. Beautiful and a relaxing. So many possibilities and options for this trip.

Glacier National Park, the Going to the Sun Road. The park itself is fantastic its a small deviation from Flathead lake but pretty much on the way.

Thanks Guys, I have travelled Yukon, BC and Alberta extensivley for the last 40 years. I am after specific Montana info.

You are correct about Laird Hot springs. I have been living in Whitehorse since 91 and have been know to drive there for an overnight camp and soak. Use to do some contract work in Watson lake and often drove there in the evening, chasing the midnight sun.

Come on along, however the Whitehorse to Montana border ride will be a blurr, pace will slow in and around Montana.

The country around Yaak is different and fun to ride. We did a camp trip up there last summer. I'll buy you a beer at the Dirty Shame saloon in Yaak. Look to the NW corner of the state to find it. Not too far a ride from the Flathead. We did all paved roads but I'm sure they have plenty of dirt. Let me know what your plans are as it gets closer and maybe we can meet for a ride.
