Forum Riders,

Went down today and finalized the deal on my new ST. Rode it home minutes ago.
This beast is as you all described, one fantastic bike. The grunt this thing has is great, and that's in the "Touring" mode.
Spending countless hours looking thru thread after thread, helped me with my decision. Then the test ride convinced me, this bike was right for me.

Anyhow, Thanks to all the members who post. You all made me do it! ;D

I'll post pics soon, but now,,,, I Wantajustride!!!! Don't care how cold it is here in Colorado.

Peace Out

Congratulations! Another Colorado S10! ::003::

Don't worry about the cold.. supposed to be in the mid 60's tomorrow. At least that's the forecast for 40 miles south west of the Springs. I plan to get mine closer to the 600 mile service tomorrow!

Thanks Guys,

I'm stoked,
Panniers are the first order of business. A tough call between Happy Trails and Micatech. Then AltRider crash bars and bash plate. There goes $1500 or more

We'll happily take the blame. Though as you enjoy the bike more and more with each passing mile, you'll soon want all the credit. :)

What's "Touring" mode? I read somewhere about Training mode but I figure I don't need that. O:)

Congrats on your new bike.

Rocky, Is this a serious question? If so, on your right hand controls, there is a slide lever switch. When your throttle is closed (letting off the gas) you can move this switch and the bike goes from Touring Mode, to Sport mode, making somewhat more responsive and quicker acceleration. Now if you want a better rush, while stopped, push the button on the left side side of the instrument cluster. Hold it in, and it will turn off the Traction Control. This is where you wil definately notice the power difference between S and T mode!!
ENJOY!!!

:)) No it wasn't a serious question. Just my twisted sense of humour.

Had the new ST for two weeks now. Have less than 200 miles on it. Reason,,,, got flu/cold/sick for a week and the weather here has been cold/snowy/freezing fog and tomorrow isn't looking good either. I have good gear and will ride when it's cold, just not when the roads are slick and icy.
However,, In the last two weeks I have managed to install
AltRider Crash bars
AltRider Rear Luggage Rack
Yamaha Side Wind Deflectors
MicaTech Luggage on SW Motec Racks.

The bike is coming along nicely. I will post pics soon, but you guys own one too so you know what they look like. ;D

In the very limited time I have spent with my new Super Tenere, I am so much more pleased with this machine than than my previous Wee. This big adventure/touring bike has surpassed my expectations in every way. Even with other rider/owners comments posted here, It's hard to describe "What" makes this motorbike such a "Spot-On" pick.

It really is that good!

I had an '03 VEE that was a pretty good bike, but had some 'warts' I didn't really care for and when the ST came along last year, I thought 'this is it'. Had second thoughts during the pdp program and didn't purchase, part of the reason was all the add ons required to put me in a happy place. But then this December I took a second look and decided to pull the trigger on one. I commend you for the winter riding but like you I have very few miles in her so far. I have begun the farkle process with: sidestand foot, deflectors, Vario windscreen, Givi crashbars in box, snakeskin tank protector (already scratched the dainty Yamaha black paint with BLUEJEANS), RAM ball to mount the Garmin on the Madstad bracket, Fenda Extenda, Caribou 40 ltr. boxes with Hepco Becker frames. Just ordered SW Motec skidplate (had one on the VEE and was just fine) and Kaoko throttle lock.

Hunting for: proper bar risers (had ROX adjustable on the VEE but understand they won't fit S10 w/o changing hoses, etc. Fuze box to put me in happy place with electrics. I'm thinking Eastern Beaver box - no extra wires or relays, I can handle myself for much less $. Had Blue Sea on VEE, but I think they are too big for S10. I think that's about it for now. Oh yeah, I'm on the notification list for a Sargent seat when they become available. My candy-butt already let me know it doesn't car much for the OEM. So what else is new? And I'm in the hunt for a decent trailer hitch, if anyone ever comes up with one.

Don't need the 'Eyes of God' aux lights, as I avoid night riding as much as possible.

I got the crud this week also, probably from driving my little ba.... errr.... angels around in the school bus... occupational hazard ::007::

Weather should be breaking soon. Maybe a trip down to Deckers in the future...
