We need a separate topic for snow removal discussion. Here is the only picture I could dig up on the computer I'm on. It's me on my 27HP Simplicity with 42" single-stage snow blower.

This was taken prior to me putting suitcase weights on. I only have 100lbs (or is it 80, can't remember if they are 40 or 50 lb weights) worth of weights out the back now. I think it's all I need. If I need more I'll wait until I go riding with Yamaguy again and just nick a few of his. :D

Nice rig Rem! I never had a cab on my Yanmar tractor and used to freeze my tootsies (and more) when out plowing. It was a 3 cylinder diesel. I kept it in my garage with block heaters installed so it always started and ran fine (no jelling of the fuel), but the hydraulics always took a LONG time to work, so I had to be careful how I parked it.

This boy is definitely the cat's rectum. Heated and air conditioned (rarely need that), tons of power. It is a 3 cylinder Kubota diesel. It was a little extravagant but I'm old. I've been shovelling by hand for many years. Tried a snowblower and I keep picking up rocks and dead bodies. This is an amazing little unit. Has a little dump box in the back, too. I have full contingent of preheating (block, battery, hydraulic) but I basically won't start it if it's below -20 or so. But up here, it rarely snows when it's that cold. Cecil rocks !!!! So, my winter motto is .... Plow More, Worry Less. R

Uh oh, something tells me I better be wary the next time you tell me to "go on ahead."

The snow here is paused for the moment. We're at probably 4" or so. How are things up your way?

Last year I bought one of these:

I don't want any more fuel tanks to stabilize or carbs to clean, and I don't like the noise, or coming in smelling of fumes, and tractors and snowblowers take up garage space that I'd rather put a motorcycle in. My wheelie shovel works really well. It's faster than my neighbor's snowblowers, about the same amount of work to use, and it's a whole lot easier to maintain. I can store it in the basement in the summer, instead of having it underfoot in the garage. We get a lot of small snowstorms here but rarely more than a few inches at a time. Once in a while we'll get a foot of snow at once, and then I have to design a more careful strategy so I don't run out of places to pile the snow up, but that's true of the snowblowers too.

Wow, I had never seen one of those. Had to do a google search to even figure out what it was. Very ingenuous looking contraption!

I did the same thing, and she loved it. She trims her toenails with it. I hardly ever get to use the damn thing. R

And just when all our snow is melted and all the broken branches cleaned up from our LAST storm, we get it again overnight. Not as bad this time - maybe 5" so far (forecast says 8-10). Almost as wet as last time around.

Must have been on a Blue bike. Those Black ones only come out when the weather is absolutely perfect.

I thought this thread sounded a bit like, "who has the biggest equipment... uh... I mean who has the biggest snow removal equipment" so I thought I would throw down with a picture of my 4x4 ATV side by side 4 seater, full cab, 4.0l 6cyl. 181hp FI 4stroke, 3800lb snow removal tool... ::017:: note the fast color and gusset dampening style... ::025:: probably won't need to steal anyones counter weights :-*
