Yamaha top case fitting

Hi guys this is probably a silly question but here goes! I have 2013 super tenere and have just ordered the Yamaha top box/case. The dealer is saying that I will need the base plate as well ?? Am I correct in thinking that it's already there and that you just have to remove the silver metal rack on the back to reveal it??? Cheers guys and sorry for the stupid question lol!

that's how it was with my '14. take the old plate off, put some screws back in and that's it. it was all under the original plate.

yup, just remove the top plate, then PUT THE BOLTS BACK IN !!, I got side tracked and forgot, bolts got pitched on a shelf, year later top box almost fell off 'cause the base broke.

Just done this... the bolt at the front nearest the seat on the plate does not hold anything except the plate.... the two long ones are the ones that secure the base
