I could have one right now, but the rules for my military base-issued license limit me to one bike. I would love to have the 660, but not if I it means giving up the Super beastie. I've test ridden a XT660R and like it, but it's just different and doesn't compare with my S10 lust.

I had one 2007 XT660R. Maybe I can look so repetitive, but the only disappointed i had was the small gas tank.
Is a very good motorcycle, very nervous engine and a very good cycle part for off road use.
Maybe if the XT660Z with his 23 liters gas tank, was a posibility when I bought the S10 my decision would have been another. Of course both are very differents bikes (S10 and 660) for different use, S10 is much more comfortable for long distance but the 660 is very funy to ride for unpaved roads or tracks.
For me the 660 is one or two steps over de KLR650.
