Last December for my 50th Birthday, my lovely wife bought me a voucher for a two day Tenere Experience (www.yamaha-tenere-experience.com)
I actually did it this weekend just gone and it was the best present I have ever received. The two days were absolutely awesome with a whole range of terrains and conditions and absolutely breathtaking scenery. I went places this weekend that I would have never believed that a Super Ten would have got to. We had two dry days too which is virtually unknown in Wales but because it has been very wet recently that meant there was a lot of mud and water to add to the fun! On the first day I rode a 660 Tenere as I thought it would be a good lead in to off-road riding as I haven't done any before. On the second day I rode a Super Ten and to be honest there wasn't much to tell between them off-road as you couldn't really feel the extra weight of the Super Ten whilst riding it. We encountered gravel roads, mud, various sizes of puddles and small river crossings, rocks, up-hill and down-hill, virtually everything you can think of. The first day was spent practicing techniques and attempting more and more challenging obstacles. On the second day we went on a 160 mile off-road adventure around Wales. Both days included lunch in a pub which was a nice break and chance to chat about what we'd seen and done. Here are a few pics of the two days: -

If anyone in the UK has thought about doing this I can thoroughly recommend it. If someone had told / shown me where we were going to ride a Super Ten before the event I seriously wouldn't have believed that it was possible.
My legs and arms still ache from all the standing up and sitting down every time the terrain changed between hard and uneven and soft and slippery!
I still have the stupid grin on my face now! ;D
