You can toss the TX toll tag. They only use your plate number, and they don't even issue tags to motorcycles. I learned all this when my wife got her new car. I went to the toll tag site, put in the new info, and pressed save. I had already transferred the toll tag to the new car. When the next statement arrived there were charges for far away TX places. Went back to the site, and found that I had put in one wrong digit. Fixed it all easy enough, but when I asked the clerk about why the actual tag's chip hadn't kept everything straight, I was told that it was only used for periodic audits; all charges are only associated with the license plates.I have transponders, so don't really worry about tolls. I-Pass & Pike Pass for the bikes, FL easy Pass and TX Toll Tag sticker for the car. Pretty much covers everything except CA. All of the transponders I have are no fee types, except when I trigger a toll. No monthly service fees, etc. The $40 I put on the account covers me for a long time unless I'm traveling those areas or going to So FL, in which case they are all set to auto-reload at a set point. If not for CV-19, I might have sprung for the FL pass for the bikes too, now that we are closer to FL.
