Dang, that's a lot anywhere, seems like an astonishing amount in TX. Were you typing that from a rubber raft?

Oddly enough, it usually only takes 5/6" to put my yard underwater. The creek beside my house never even left its banks this time. I have to assume that not having any rain for 60+ days might have something to do with it. That being said, most of North Texas has been rainless for the same period of time, and there was massive flooding in and around the cities. I'm out in the country with less concrete, so that might be the key.

I tell friends/family that live around the country, we have about two weeks in the spring and fall that are wonderful. The rest of the time we're either too hot, too cold, too wet, or too dry. Nothing in moderation. The weatherman for the local news said that around here, long droughts are usually ended by flooding rains. Again, nothing in moderation. :D

I understand, I was at Ft Hood for a couple of years. Loved being at the lake in February, but right around December I found Texas to be the coldest spot on earth. I got so accustom to 105 degrees with 98% humidity every day. When December hits with that damp 22 degrees you just want to die.

Glad you survived the massive rains.

Daughter in Cedar Park north of Austin got less than an inch.
That's the other thing. It doesn't rain normal down here. It rains in spots, or bands. I've seen it raining at my neighbor's house across the street, and nothing at my house; and vice versa,

I think the KTM classed it up some.

Your bike parked at where you took a break from the ride. Literally anyone can get this one.

New tag, Historical Marker or Highway.
Ironically, they were repaving today.

Hey! I resemble that remark!

I did the Lincoln Highway as my Covid trip in 2020 went from Latrobe PA to Cheyenne WY before I ran out of time/weather and had to come home. Cool bit of history, I need to finish the remainder of that journey....maybe next year.

Sorry for the sidetrack, back to our regularly scheduled thread now.
