Use will hiking!

Ooh good idea! This packs up so small and light I will cary it with me everywhere. On the bicycles, hiking, motorcycles. What a great piece of kit.

Got home from being away and there was a package from Iron Pony (as well as a large one from Jaxon!) that contained the M and L Klim jackets.

I am going to keep the L and my SO likes the M. They will be great as all around wind breakers, as well as a waterproof shell to wear over a mesh jacket. Very happy with the quality and style. I don't think I would have paid MSRP, but they really are nice for $90.

Think we're about the same height. The L is good for fitting over an armored jacket?

Yes, I plan to wear it over my armored mesh jacket and it should fit well without much flapping, if any at all.

So what's the deal with these things? If I want to wear it as a normal jacket when I get off the bike...not over my armored jacket, what size do I get? I wear an XL/XXL in most T-shirts/sweatshirts/jackets/etc.

I bought a 2xl and I wear a 2xl t-shirt. The jacket is big on me, I can comfortably wear a sweatshirt underneath it I probably could have gotten an XL and been fine. The sleeves are long but that's not a big issue since you can adjust the cuff so the sleeve doesn't go pasty your wrist. Since i don't own a mesh jacket I can't speak to the fit over that and I would have no reason to use it over my Roadcrafter or Kilimanjaro Jacket.

For me this jacket will be used when traveling and I need a rain jacket between riding.

I wear XXL. I tried an XL and while less "baggy" overall, if you have broad shoulders it may be a little tight when you stretch your arms out forward.

So XL will probably work for me. I plan on using it as a "casual" jacket. Not really associated with motorcycling. I'm 5'11", 250lbs.

Just keep in mind this jacket has no liner...it's very thin. If its at all cool out you going to want something more that a t-shirt underneath.

I ordered a 2x blue jacket a week ago and it arrived today. I usually wear either XL or 2XL in most things like t-shirts and sweatshirts and while it is big, it is not terribly big and it is the correct size for me if I were to layer anything underneath.

Only major disappointment is the lack of pockets - the breast pocket (which is the same one you can stow the jacket into) is the only pocket on the entire jacket. (Pockets are a major source of water intrusion so they're not without drawbacks.)

Nice jacket. $90 for a quality Gore-Tex shell like this is a bargain.

I received mine today. Wow, what a neat looking jacket. Ok, for the sizing, I have 44ish waist and it fits good, my chest for coats is 54-56" and this fits good with nothing pulling anywhere on the jacket. I am amazed that it fits this good. Oh, I got the XXL Blk/tan. So if you are looking at this, get it while it's hot!!

OK, you guys sucked me in. I've been wanting to go whith the shell-only concept for quite some time, but kept balking at Klim's prices. Couldn't really pass up this deal. I went for the large as it's adequate for my size 38 frame, and will allow for layering 8)
