Got to demo an 07 and I was impressed. Demo was on Friday and I'm still excited.
That bike is " just my size". Started researching reviews and accessories , there's
skid plates, duel sport tires and the like to make this into what ever you like. That
budget suspension was right on for me to.
Will see ::013::

Local dealer has one on the floor with a skid plate and tkc80's. Looks good but still not much ground clearance nor suspension travel.

had one for half a year (2600km)
Peach of a motor. Suspension is ok for a slow clip. Throw any corners or speed at it, and it's all over but the crying.

I never had mine on gravel. My tenere has 50/50's on it, so it didn't make sense to take the fz07 on gravel.

I'm a slow clip kind of guy ::001::
My brother broke his other hip on Thanksgiving so I'm fine at a slow clip.
At 76 he's concerned about possibly having to stop riding. I never want to stop riding.

well, it's a most excellent bike.
I enjoyed it, but I'm liking my FJ09 more.

Have you had a look at the MT-03? My wife has one same 660cc engine as the Ténéré lots of ground clearance, wide bars, handles beautifully, plenty Torque and very comfortable. Throw some 50/50 tyres on and it would make a sweet scrambler.

Biggest problem with the Fz and FJ is the routing of the exhaust and little ground clearance if you want to take them on some tougher unsealed roads

Greg, did you sell your rear shock with fz07?My son just bought a slightly used 2014 and is in the market for one.Jim
Hi Jimmy,

yes I did. The front cartridges and rear shock went to a fellow in Ohio.
Zard pipe went all the way to Taiwan.

I do still have an SW rear rack for it and givi adapter plate http://www.twistedthrottle.com/sw-motech-alu-rack-toprack-for-yamaha-fz-07
, and SW motech tank ring http://www.twistedthrottle.com/sw-motech-bags-connection-quick-lock-type-209-ion-tankbag-bottom-tankring
Both very useful items for the bike

PM if he might be interested in those.
