Hi

I am getting prices for my first 6000 mile(Euro only) service and one dealer sent me this official Yamaha EuroService Maintenance Worksheet for the 10k km/ 6000 mile service.

It details what they do and do not not do plus adds a few part numbers for consumables, tyre pressure and torque settings. To view the document click on this dropbox link as follows-:

I thought it may be useful to see what Yamaha euroservice completes for the money and also as a guide for those that may wish to do their own service. Currently looking at £300 inc vat for this service from the dealer I bought it from unless anyone has a better price in the South/South West/Midlands of England?

Thanks

The distance might be a bit of a stretch for you, but Motorcycle World (aka Northampton Yamaha) did my S10 ES 6k/12m Service for £156.70 incl. VAT in July. That price includes changing the final drive oil, so I thought they were pretty reasonable.

They are solus Yamaha & seem to be well organised. I arrived around 10.30 for the drop off (to miss the traffic) &, after a leisurely wander around the town, they had me back on my way home within 3 hours.

If anyone is interested, check them out at <www.motorcycleworld.uk.com> ::022::

The sheet is a a single-page version of what starts on page 7-5 of your owners manual, which can be down-loaded from the Yamaha web-site. The individual country Yamaha web-sites are slightly different to reflect the differences in distance between checks, which has been discussed here and elsewhere extensively.

Thanks Ken.

That's a good price for owners in the Midlands area! I have just been quoted £190.00 inc vat at Bridge MotorCycles, Exeter so only about 40 mins ride from me. I've booked them for early next year.

cheers

Quite a few of those items are a visual check or quick poke/twist/shake and move on. Note that many items only list replace or change at a higher mileage point, say 50,000 kms. If you're not at one of those intervals, it mostly ends up being a visual check. A good tech will blow thru much of that in ten minutes, then spend time on the things that need attention or actual activity.

Update;- My third dealer option, Bransons Motorcycles in Yeovil came back this morning for the identical service at £150.00 inc vat.
So I've booked the bike in there.

I will probably throw in a yam oem filter as I have it in stock and get them to fit that. I'll do the drive shaft oil myself if they don't do that.

I think thats a result! :)
