Must be that time of year. My local dealer is sponsoring free demos this Friday and Saturday. 15 new yams to ride all the Star models including the Bolt. FJR, R1, R6, FZ8, FZ6R and my favorite the V-Max and of course the S10. I'm aiming to ride all 15 bikes.

I love Demo days. Am a regular, when they come here. Agree about the V-Max. What a fun toy. Have fun.

Great to meet you Vince! Thanks again for the heads up on the demo days. It confirmed I'm glad I didn't get and FJR and that I don't need an R1. I'm relieved they didn't have an FZ9 or I'd have one in the garage and an angry wife.

Great meeting you as well I had a blast on the V-Max it felt strange at first riding my S10 home after that monster. So glad to have the flash done to make up for some of it. Lol
I skipped out on my FJR ride but I guess I didn't miss much from what your saying.

Travis said he loved the S10 except for a few fixable issues (buffeting, buzzy grips). The FJR was OK, but the wind was bad regardless of screen position (but I'm shorter than you). Power was clearly good, but we didn't get a chance to really open it up. I went WOT in 2nd a few times and wasn't super impressed. Roll ons from 50 in 5th (top) felt about like the S10. Plus the tank was really wide. I was really not impressed by how soft the suspension was: The bike felt really soft/wallowy but was harsh at the same time. I didn't check if it was in the "soft" or "hard" setting.

Did you ride the 1300A or 1300ES?

I rode the FZ9, the second person at the dealer (mechanic that set it up was first). It is everything they say. Possibly one of the best new motorcycles available, mountains better than the FZ8. Tons of torque (65 ftlbs and it feels like it), narrow as a bike comes, and it feels as light as a dirtbike. great stance, just a much better choice than a 600rr whatever for just about any human.
