Wow, assuming those savings are for "new" bikes - sweet deal! There's always that price gap when comparing similar products in Canada and down south for just about everything. Anyhoot, looking forward to tomorrow when my raven black Tenere will be waiting for me to sign on the dotted line ::014::

All the best!

regardless what you pay, you will love the bike, 13xxx km for me so far, and loving it. Besides you could have paid 22500++ for a GS with no TC, and have to look forward to crap service, and a eventual rear drive line failure ::002::

but that's where the fun is! when I had one, I was always riding and feeling the footpegs for any unusual vibrations; a tell-tale sign of drive shaft or final drive implosion. And then the put it on the center stand and hold the wheel at `12 and 6 o'clock, as well as 3 and 9 o'clock and try to move it laterally to see if there's any movement. Dealer always says that's normal... not to mention a $1000 for the 40,000 km service.. (valve check, fluids change, alternator belt).

I'm super pleased with the SuperTenere. I'm also very pleased to be done with my bmw reliability issues, the biggest of which was a main seal leak that contaminated the clutch and had to have bike split in half..

For Canadians, some dealers in Canada are willing to sell the SuperTen for $15000, out the door, plus tax. So if you can't be bothered to import one from the US, that's not a bad price.

the nice thing with the tenere is the bulk of the work if not all of it can be done by you. Granted the valve train is chain driven, that is a bit of a pain, but really at 40 thou km it will not be a problem. My bike will never see the dealership.
BIKE magazine out of the uk did a story on Nick Sanders ST, and how they had a look at it at 50,000 miles, the thing looked new inside, the only thing they changed was the rear shock. I have two VW diesels, so that's enough of a german experience for me, all my bikes are japanese.
For $15 grand in canada, that is a great deal, but my local guy was not willing to move off of msrp last year, so I went to the states, paid for my farkles out of the money I saved, and had left over to keep the chief financial officer happy ::015::

50Km today on my new black tenere and it is a sweet ride! I have no doubt that this will be a bike that I'll be riding for a very long long time! A couple of years ago I was thinking about the BWM 1200GS but the costs kept me looking. Glad I waited! Anyways, I got a $500 discount as the dealership preparse for their own promotion for Vancouver's Men Show this weekend.

Indeed, a happy CFO (our better half) = a happy home! Actually looking forward to the commute tomorrow.

Or you could be like other Ontario dealers and do me a favour and sell it at MSRP because it's a "rare" bike... (look at trader.ca if you doubt this description).

I went into my local dealership 2 months ago and would've been willing to pay $15k (+ taxes and license, of course) on the spot CASH, but instead they were going to waive the fees, so it was only $16499 including 2 year warranty extension... oh, not including the $500 admin fee.

These guys really don't want to sell bikes. I'm hopefully buying mine in the US in 2 weeks for considerably less than that.

Also, FWIW, I got more of a discount from BMW when I bought it 2 years ago... this $300 rebate is an insult.

If you're near Ottawa there's a dealer advertising it on Kijiji for $15K OTD plus tax near Prescott.

If you're near Toronto, there's a dealer in Blackstock, ON for $15K OTD plus tax, and they treat you very well, it's a small mom and pop shop.

The dealer you reference sounds like the Brampton dealer that cemented my decision to buy it in the US. He wanted full MSRP, plus plus plus fees, plus tax.

I wish I knew about either of these a few months ago... I'm just outside Toronto. I'm pretty much committed to buying in the US. Even at that price, it's going to save me $2k. Money's a bit tight for me right now, so $2k will buy some farkles.

I don't want to name names (since I might need to go there for service ;))
