Hi to all!
Revently I got a 2013 XT660Z and I'm impress with the bike. I do have it along with a 2013 XT1200Z.
Reason why I look for a smaller one is because for doing some contry side road the 1200 is too heavy for me, also when I looked for a smaller one I look in to the Japanese brands and why not to have a look in to the Yamaha, so that is why I end up with a XT too.
One more reason is to have my son to ride with me too, he was doing cross for many years so why not to go along in my rides so son&father relation gets stronger.
Here are some photos of the new member:

Additional info. it has 30000 km, two side paniers, engine bar protectors. I think we thid a good deal in the negotiation ($5.5)

The following are my 3 wheel toys.

Nice collection Miguel! I would love to have a lighter bike besides the S10. Something like a T7 or the older XT’s. Just for fun and variation.

You should look into putting the DNA filters on it and a pipe. It rocks.

I don't think I've ever seen an XT660. Another non-US bike? Definitely the precursor to the T-7. Looking at your son's helmet graphics, I'm guessing it's an ICON helmet?

Yes, it is a none US bike, it was sold in Mexico and I understand that they were sold in Europe and South America, there is a XT660 face group in Chile.
That`s his mother helmet!! His helmet is a cross one and he is waiting for his new Double purpose helmet.
What do you mean with ICON? (Brand?)

That bike is an icon!
plenty of them over here too.
Great piece of kit.
I saw some of them here in Mexico and my son and me we just wanted one of them, and due to my S10 experience, we desided to go for it.
Stefan by tha way, I got the filling that the XT660 vibrates a lot, will that be the way this bike works? any idea on how much vibration should I expect from the bike? Regards

Good friday to all!

Yes, it's a brand. It's my oldest son's choice. They generally have bold graphics/colors. I was somewhat skeptical to the quality. He has had the misfortune to test his. But, we had the good fortune that the helmet did it's job. All he had was a minor concussion; full recovery.

Is good to know that your son is OK; and you initially questioned the brand, The brand is different, and is DOT even though I would like not to test if it covers the DOT or not, much better just to use it and not test it.

I am not the right person to ask since I have only ridden it once on a short testride. Because it is only 1 cilinder it vibrates a lot at low RPM I noticed ( under 3000). Vibrating can have so many causes, that is hard to say over the internet.

It's not too vibey it is an old school single after all. I didn't take mine to dusty places so i ran the DNA air filter and side filter with MTC can and adjusted fueling to suit. Boy that bike is so much better set up like that. Smoother and pulls much harder.
