Thanks to some industrious dirt daubers, I'm looking for a replacement fan. :(

Before I buy new thought I might see if anyone may have an unused spare laying around, or a wrecked parts bike. I know it's a long shot, but you never know...

You'd need to sit down and thumb through a parts catalog, but there are many low profile fan motors being used in the automotive end of things.

Just thought!!!!! Jump on the TrailTech website and search through their fan offerings. Yiu may be good to go. Just verify specs a bit but size should be there.

I have the Denso p/n, you'd think it'd be simple....

I know this is an old thread, but I'd love to know where/how you sourced the motor! I'm in the market for one for the same reasons as you were :)
I think I have read in a post that the motor (not the paddles) ... is the same as the KLR650

Yes, and I can find them on ebay. Just curious as to what other options (to Ebay) there are, for comparison.
However, you should be careful with the similarities. That on the outside it is the same and of the same brand does not mean that "internally" they are the same. A difference in the "winding", can make it turn at a slower or faster speed ... It is like the case of women and the use of mouthguards .... From a distance, and with a mouthguard, it looks like J Lo .... as she gets closer, you already notice something strange ... when she uncovers her face, she is 80 years old and all her teeth are missing:):)
check it well before buying a "similar"

I've got a fan motor from an FJR on mine, couldn't find a second hand one in the UK when I needed one 2 years ago ( and I wasn't paying the ridiculous price for a new one) so bought a pair of FJR ones from the US for $45 including shipping.
Bolted straight into the S10 fan bracket and changed the paddles over but you might have to swap the electrical connector.

There are some older threads which can probably be found with the search box. As I recall the FJR fan fits and so do others (R1 iirc) with the difference being the electrical connector. Even if the frame is different, Yamaha used the same pancake motor across a lot of bikes.
