Looking for front rim or complete front wheel with hub. Woodys has one for $850 on EBAY, but I'm hoping to find one less expensive. The cheapest I can find the rim for is $420 from Yamaha house of parts. Any help would be appreciated.

Woody's is going to get mine sometime soon for a straightening. It's expensive to mess up one of these wheels, ain't it. ???

Pothole in the shade. Thought for sure I blew the tire, nope, just a .060 bump in the rim.

Guys, depending on how bad the ding is, it's possible to get then straightened - at least it was for me. I had a pretty bad ding taken out of the front in El Salvador ($25) and one taken out of the rear in Brazil ($30) in both cases, I couldn't tell where the ding had been. In both cases, ding was bad enough to leak a little air, but not so bad that the tire completely deflated. If that sounds like your problem, then try to get if fixed - Woody will do it, but I'm sure there are others too.

Trevor! Where are you now?
I actually did a little active research on rim straightening in NorCal. There are straighteners out there, only they don't deal with spoked wheels. They'll do the cast alloys, but don't have the skill set for spokes. Reportedly there's somebody that does spokes at Roseville Yamaha, I didn't call them to see who they would use for straightening.
A block of wood and a big hammer don't seem to touch these rims. ::010::

Don, my guess would be that the problem is US liabilty laws... not a problem in Central and South America! As far as the required "skill set", as far as I could tell they used some kind of roller arrangement to go round the rim until the ding is gone. Doesn't seem like rocket science, and doesn't seem particularly risking either, as long as you don't get 2 dings in the same spot, or the ding isn't a huge one.

Paris now...
