It depends on how you want your lights to function. I'm sorry it doesn't meet your code of standard. But then again, its not your bike.
Thanks to all that have helped along the way. I'm happy with the end result.

I got all of that before...you didn't get my post.

His lights are not triggered by the high beam. They are independently wired to switches that is hot all the time (with ignition obv). The way you did it is the way that it's done, in general.
No Dave, you still don't get it. Ignore my 8 lights switched by the high beam. The way I did that is the way that it's done, in general.

However, my pair of 10W LEDS are not triggered by the high beam. They are independently wired to a switch that is hot all the time (with ignition obv).

The gutter lights can be on or off on either high or low beam, because of the switch. Like the OP, if I am on high beam (ignore my 8 other lights) I may well need to hit 2 switches - the bike hi/lo plus the 2x10W switch.

I find it a desirable way to wire lights. That's why I did it.

Maybe you don't realise that by triggering a switch by the low beam positive wire does not mean the driving lights go off when you flick to high beam.....its a Tenere. There is no conventional 'high beam'.
