On my 2014 ES, the right plastic windshield nut gets loose every 25-50 miles. The left one is always tight. Does anyone else have this dumb problem? Any ideas on how to fix it??

TIA

Mine did that at the beginning but once tightened correctly, it was OK.
You can also put a drop of blue Loctite and problem will be gone unless you play with windshield height constantly.

What is the "correct" way to tighten? I tighten the left side the same way as the right and it stays in place....I usually don't change the height much so blue Loctite is a good idea, Thanks!

Get you a black zip tie and go across the "wings" of the handle it will stay tight.

Mine does it too and it drives me bat shit! I have tighten it to the point I was sure it would strip and it still loosens up. No problem ever with the left one. If anyone comes up with a workable solution I'd love to hear it. Loctite is not the answer as I adjust my windshield depending on temp.

I will take a picture of the one that I saw. I haven't had the loose nut issue (but my wife says loose nut behind the handlebars). It was pretty cool how he ran the zip tie across the wing nut and through the slot where the mount slides. He rode all the way back from Alaska like that.

Mine was like that and after sliding the windshield up and down some while the knobs were loose I realized that I wasn't in the right "slot" on one side with the knob. It tightened up perfectly after that and I've had no problems.

Can the stock plastic nut be replaced with a stainless steel bolt?

Ouch on the price. Common problem with the right windshield adjuster nut but... it eventually stays tight. Another thing to correct is the shaking windshield which contributes to the loose nut. A member on this forum sells a very good bracket for a reasonable price and high quality. Fasteners included.

....just go to Home Depot and buy SS lock washers and SS wing nuts... ... that's what I did with my expensive Touratech bracket adjuster with their garbage plastic wheel nut adjusters.

Lock-Tote is hard on plastic.
I took it off, put a touch of black silicone seller on the threads, wiped off most of it, and let it dry before putting the thing back on. Works.

Don't need to. It eventually stays tight. I did install the windshield bracket until I had my 2015 ES a year. I only had t tighten the windshield bracket maybe 4 times in the first couple months. I average 1,000 miles a months.

A little bit of blue Loctite fixed it for me. I never move mine anyway.
I thought the same and realized I move it up when I clean it.

Mine does the same thing. Right side will come almost completely loose if I ignore it for a few days. Have to tiighten it down every couple of days. Just figured it is a quirk of the bike the way it vibrarates when riding or something similar. Will do blue loctite when I get around to it that will put an end to it.
