Anyone know of an aftermarket source for the winglet air deflectors in something other than clear (or tinted, in the case of Cee Bailey) plex? I'm looking for a nicely molded alternative in an opaque material - black or a nice match to the dark charcoal colored upper side panels...carbon fiber...anything. This may be an opportunity for Machineart Moto, but I don't belive they offer anything yet for non-BMWs.

I painted mine with plasti-dip. I sprayed the inside. The flat black matches the dash and console perfect. I did not paint the outside so it looks like high gloss black and matches the paint finish perfect. I did the same to my stock windshield.
However, if you spray the outside it will be protected from any debris on or off rode. Either would probably give you the look you want and if not, just peel it off.

I've used truck bed liner to paint portions of the interior of several windshields. Much more durable then Plasti-Dip and looks great from the other side.

I've painted a few shields with success. I always paint the back. Rough it up with some fine sandpaper, tape off the section, then apply a few thin coats of Krylon Fusion.

Anybody try to paint the OEM Tall Yamaha windshield? Seems like it has a coating that prevents it being painted, like silicone.
At least I haven't had luck with it.
I've painted plenty of others.

ace50 - Don't mean to hijack the thread, but where'd you get the decals for the headlight and wheels? They look great!

Made my own out of black ABS guttering, ( water spout in the US ?). Heat it in the oven to produce flat sheet. Cut out template and heat again to mould in the tabs etc. Fix using nylon bolts.

Just make sure we don't show up at a rally looking the same, that would be embarrassing! ::025::
Thanks for the link - I didn't realize there was so much stuff like that. Don't worry about the rally; I'll be sure to tell everyone that YOU copied ME! :D :D
