Windshield compatibility?

Hi all,

I picked up a lightly used 2012 super tenere and it has an aftermarket windshield on it that is just a little too tall. As I shop for a new one I notice that some are advertised for the second generation only. What is the difference as far as windshields go on the first and second generation? They look identical to me. I am particularly looking at the touratech windshield mount and medium wind screen.

Thanks for your help!

Drill some holes in the one you got and lower it down. I have a V-Stream that was too tall in the high position and too low in the next one down so I drilled some hole in it in between and I have the perfect height windshield. JMO

Note: Use a step drill bit for perfect holes.

i have the adjustable touratech windscreen mount, plus the touratech screen on my gen 1, love it, but in the UK you can,t get the gen 1 touratech screen anymore they only have a few gen 2 screens available.
the difference between a gen 1 screen and a gen 2 yamaha screen is the holes in the screens, the gen 1 screen the holes are closer together and mount straight on the bike, the gen 2 bike has a added screen mount that makes the holes in the gen 2 screen need to be wider, BUT if you take the gen 2 screen mount off you can mount a gen 1 screen straight on a gen 2 bike
