Windscreen Madness

Okay, I really feel I am beating a dead horse to death but being tall isn't always a good thing. I am 6'4" and I sit very tall in the saddle, I have a long torso. I was getting severe wind noise even with ear plugs, buffeting, and that deep bass roar. I bought a madstad bracket, and got a v-stream mid size screen, helped some but not enough . I was beginning to think just suck it up ride and go deaf. Anyway I found and older post on here with the same problem I have. In short he said he has to have two windscreens short for the summer and a barn door for cooler weather. I took my stock screen cut 4" off of it removed the madstad bracket and put my screen on the lower setting. I have attached pictures, it works pretty good.
My question what big ole barn doors screens would be good for touring and cooler weather? Please give me insight.

Go to the California Scientific windscreen website. http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/Tenereprod.html. . They have a nice "formula" written up that uses your height and inseam to estimate how high in the air your noggin is. Then they show recommended screens and publish the height of that screen. (I purchased one size larger. Glad I did)

You don't have to buy their screen to use their formula. But I did. (They were one of the first U.S. farkle providers when the bikes first showed up)
Wasp in Australia turned me on to them.

I got the "Large".
Can't believe they have one even bigger. It's a barn door. But for me, that's what it took.
Worked so well I didn't need my "Wasp adjuster". Sold it cheap to another inmate around here.

I still look over it. So it is not TOO tall for me. But mounted to the OEM bracket, it killed the buffeting. And if I lower my forehead just a bit, my cockpit goes dead silent.

6'1" 34" inseam

Note: I ride off road and I pound the beast a bit with the OEM suspension. This screen is big enough to break the well nuts and let the screen bounce around. (knurled knobs from Cal-Sci)

I fixed it by drilling for the other 2 holes in the mount. So I have 6 fasteners, instead of 4.
So far so good.

I also have the Cal-Sci large.
I'm about the same height and inseam as snakebitten.
I was not bothered by buffeting with the OEM screen. I was going strictly for noise reduction.
While the Cal-Sci is definitely more quiet than the OEM, I'm not eliminating earplugs, like I had hoped to. I can't call it dead quiet, no matter where I move my head.

I had the Cal Science large also. So large I had to look thru it. Still had wind noise.

With the V-creen from MRA I don't need plugs anymore. Look over it and even bugs are pushed over my head. The double edge really breaks up the air flow.
Hear is the best shot I have. I will get a better one later.

You and I sound like very similar morphologies and I have a 24 inch (if memory serves) cee bailey and wind wings that I look over barely. It's a bit of a barn door but works great in our cold 40 degree winter days. I'd prob get the 22 inch if I reordered .

"Dead quiet" was admittedly an exaggeration. For that, I apologize if it mislead.

But very quiet for flying across the surface of the planet at a mile a minute.

Crosswinds, not included.

I had a Parabellum on my Beemer and loved it, thinking about getting one for the S10, just need to know if they address the "Riser needed" situation. Cuz I don't use risers on mine.

I'm satisfied with the Parabellum. It was fine without an adjustable bracket but even better with the Madstad.

Tried my Cee Bailey 22. At full height the madstad couldn't hold it forward at 100km/h and it slowly leaned back.
Will try it without the madstad at some point. OEM is back on for this weekends ride.

I use my 23" Parabellum during the winter and I just got the Givi Airfow for the rest of the riding season. I did 280 miles this Sunday and I really like the Givi. It lets in some air around the sides but is very quiet in my helmet. I do have 1" up and1" back risers. I'm really liking this setup.

They don't list a 23 inch on their site. Did you cut 1 inch off of a 24 inch?

Thanks
