I had to drill (4) holes in my VStream to get it just the perfect location to fit me. I used a step drill and it was very easy to drill a nice clean hole. If you decide to drill your windshield, measure five times and drill once.

Sorry about that. It is the 24" tall model. I believe that is the touring model.
Thank you! I was actually looking for one. Did it stop the wind buffering completely? I’m tall too and the stock one is horrible. Wind hits me on my chest.

Yes Wind hit me lower than my helmet. Now I can ride all day with my visor open with the windshield in the lower position I look over it in a relaxed riding position. If I put it up all the way I have to sit up straight and I can barely see over it and I am stretching up in my position a little. I'm 6'3" with a 32" inseam. If I use the stock seat I have it in the tall position. Hope this helps.

I've got a California Scientific and it's been my favorite so far. No recommendation on height. I'm 6 feet and think I have the tall version. Cut back the turbulence for touring riding.

I've got a shorter Madstadt in the garage byt it didn't do it for me. Keeping it around for now for hot weather, but I honestly haven't felt the need to switch around.

I previously had a tall Parabellum and used it for a number of years. It was good, but for some reason shoulder turbulence started to irritate me, so I swapped it for the CalSci. I tried a medium Parabellum but found it a tad too short for me and what I wanted.

I don't have an opinion on the others, but I will stick with CalSci if I need to replace my current one. I've got a small crack from gravel, so it may happen.

Also - I've got th Madstadt bracket and side support bars. Highly recommend that, regardless of the windscreen.

Why do you recommend thet madstadt bracket ? The stock Tenere since 2014 already include the heigh settings, is it improve stability ?
I think we can buy this part here : https://madstad.com/collections/tenere/products/side-support-brackets-yamaha-tenere-2014-up

California scientific on my tenere , best windshield I've had . on their sight they explain how to pick the correct size , one needs to see over not through to be safe . very calm behind the screen and a nice place to ride .
I agree, I really hate trying to see through. I bough my bike with a black puig windscreen and it's not ideal.

I have always been happy with the stock wind screen on my 2012. the only time it messes with me is if I am going down a really steep hill and need to move back on the bike. Some how I seem to wind up looking through the curved part at the top of the wind screen and it distorts the ground so I have trouble finding just where to put the front tire. That is so rare I do that it really isn't a bother. I have learned to look around it to the side till I can move up on the bike again. Of course after moving my bars back some helped a lot. I don't think I need to get that low on the bike to get my weight back now.

V Stream seeams to be very popular
It does seem like that. My one concern with the VStream is the fact that it seems to cause plastic melting problems (on the bike, not the screen) if parked in the sun for an extended time. Seems the curvature in the lower part of the screen focuses sunshine like a magnifying glass. Some resolve this by throwing something over the screen or dash when they park.

I noted this on the 2013 I picked up that had a VStream. I was confused by the distorted plastic on the dash until I read about the problem on this forum.

Looks like the Puig Clip-On comes in three sizes; which is everyone using? Im thinking the medium would work with the factory screen best.
  • SM - 23cm x 9cm with a clamp width of 16cm
  • MD - 25cm x 10cm with a clamp width of 20cm
  • LG - 31.5cm x 10cm with a clamp width of 22cm

That's really freaky ...
I'm trying to take the right CalSci windscreen.
I am 5,10" height for 35" pants inseam.
If I believe their chart, I should buy S size, it seeams quite low because there is a huge difference between Medium and Tinted Shorty : https://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/Tenereprod.html

I have a '23 S10 with the OEM windscreen and am interested in the Yamaha "tall" windscreen. Can someone tell me the height/width difference between Yamaha's OEM and tall windscreens? I looked on the Yamaha website and couldn't find the info. Thanks.

I’ve run my 24” VStream touring screen on three bikes over 100,000 miles. It is a hard coated screen that puts me in still air. BUT, it will definitely melt your dash if the sun hits it just right. The screen did puddle the top of my gauge surround on my 2015 S10 near the left turn signal indicator. I made a cheap hood as shown in my pictures below, but was surprised to see it happen again on my 2021 S10 as circled In the second picture. So, I slide an old sleeveless t-shirt over the windshield when the bike is parked outside on a ride…..no problems thus far.

Strange. Do you know why this phenomenon occurs? It looks like a "magnifying glass" effect. I'm sure it has something to do with the materials used, but I'm not aware of any such problems with other brands.

It does act like a magnifying glass when the sun hits it just right. My Honda ST1300 stock screen did the exact same thing and burned the dash twice before I started slipping a tshirt over it when parked outside.

Medium on the Yamaha factory tall windscreen for me. I am 6' 2" and the smooth air goes right over the top of my helmet with no buffeting at all!

The difference is the tall is about 3-4” taller. I didn’t notice any width difference. Im 6’1” and the Oem screen was just a tad short to keep the buffeting off the top of my head when I stretched out. Tall works well with the winglets on the cowling.
