Wind Wings - Yamaha or Cee Bailey???

I just looked at the new Cee Bailey wind wings on their website, and I like the fact that they make them in black, so they match my black Tenere. They seem to be larger than the Yamaha wings. Anyone here have any experiences to share on which ones work best. Are they easily removed? It gets hotter than hades here in the summer and I may want to remove them during hot weather.

IIRC, the Cee Bailey wings are quite large. So, in turn, the are much more effective at the purpose they server. That said, I live in one of the windier states in the US, and the OEM wings work like a champ. Many spray paint the topside with flat black rattle can if black is what you want. I wouldn't let that be your deciding factor.

So basically, let someone with the Cee Bailey's confirm their size, but they are almost, if not actually double, the size of the OEM wings.

Either way you go, it's three button "phillips" head bolts for each side to remove them. Takes a minute or two is all to remove. O0

I'm pretty sure they are JIS.

JIS - commonly found in Japanese equipment. It looks like a Phillips screw, but can be damaged by a Phillips screwdriver if it is too tight.

Yep - that's the acronym I was looking for. I put it in quotes hoping someone would clarify. A standard philips will strip the OEM plastic pan head with little effort, don't ask me how I know.

Hindsight's 20/20 - I now have a set of 3 JIS screwdrivers in the arsenal, or your oem toolkit screwdriver is JIS, too ::008::

The dealer installed my wings and the screw heads were pretty mangled. I replaced the screws and added caps to dress things up. The caps cost a total of just over $2 for 3 pairs. I purchased the caps at Lowes: Product Page Link .

Same way I know, I imagine. ;-)

I have smokey grey CB's on my grey Tenere. They are quite large. Noticeably larger than the OEM Yamaha. I put them on a year ago last spring, so I don't remember a lot about it, but they went on easily. So I assume they will come off easily. I can post a pic or two if anyone is interested. Does anyone know if the wings help reduce wind for the passenger too?
My wife said she couldn't tell. I'm the wind deflector for the most part when she's on the back - she reminds me every time I move if we're on the slab ::005::

Yep, that's how it is on my current bike as well. We just got back from a trip together and it was a topic of discussion, so thought I'd ask here. Thanks.
