My wife used to ride her own steet and in the dirt she is now a beautiful 52 so she rides with me on the street and her own quad now.
My wife used to ride as well and still has her motorcycle endorsement, but much prefers to ride pillion now! We have talked about getting her a little D-P bike, but only talk so far. I won't give her age, but she is 3 years younger than I............. :D ;D

Actually, I was concerned about this, I needed a lowering link for my WR250R, wasn't sure I was willing to deal with a too tall 575 pound bike, link or not. Having sat on two different S10s, I find that even with my shrinking 30" inseam, I fit with feet flat on the floor, or close to it. Sure is fun to be an old goat!

I was pleasantly surprised, as have been many, on how low the seat height is and how manageable the bike feels. And since there are already lowering links available to shave off a little more, those with a shorter inseam should be fine as long as the loss of ground clearance isn't an issue. When I went back and forth between the lower and higher seat positions (off and on for 9 hours at the Seattle Motorcycle show), I definitely will ride with the seat in the upper position for my 32" inseam. I wouldn't mind if the seat was even taller as I wouldn't want the peg to seat relationship to be any closer for long road rides and one always has the option of putting it on the lower setting if you are doing some offroading and want it a bit easier to touch down when you come to a stop.

My wife really pushed me to order the blue Tenere in case I wanted to hand it down to her. She's 5'6" and even with her DL650 lowered an inch she still finds it top heavy and would like to have a better balanced bike. She hasn't sat on one yet, but I'm hopeful it will fit her. I would be perfectly happy passing along a bike that is less top heavy, has traction control, is much better off road, and better ABS than her Wee. Won't know until mine is delivered, but I don't mind owning two.

I had forgotten about this post. Kinda interesting how things worked out. Can't say I didn't see it coming.

Hi Troll
Reckon i could give you a good run for the money in the short arse stakes. Think i am about 5`5" with 28" inseam.
That extra 5/8ths makes all the difference you know
Find the S10 good to play about with the lowered seat with my Daytona M-star boots or Elton John boots as my mates call them make the S10 perfectly manageable, and think of all the advantages that we have.
No cramped riding position, can strech our legs without them dragging on the road.

You are right little legs, every eighth of an inch counts when one is a shorty, but I always say - every hardware store sells ladders if you can`t reach, but try to buy a hole to stand in if you are too tall... ::26:: ::26::

5'6" with a 29" inseam here. I've sat on an ST and can comfortably reach the ground on the balls of my feet. If I only need to put one foot down, I can flat foot.

Hoping to test drive an ST this weekend and buy one when I move to CA in July. Already loving the great community here.
