I ran into a similar situation when I was looking. I ended up with an Akra and glad I did. It is pricey but the craftmanship, fit and finish is outstanding, IMO better then OEM by miles.
The other positive about the Akra is the sound after breakin, it does need to breakin before it get its true note, low throttle rumble yet quiet. I get alot of comments on the sound of the Tenere, not knowing it has the slipon. Personally I like the stealth of quietness when traveling but also love the rumble of power even though it is just an ADV bike.
You pay for high end, in some cases it is worth it in others not so much. Switching to a slipon is a personal touch as really nothing wrong with the OEM setup.
For me everything came into play, I wasn't going to waste money on a system that looks out of place or causes issues, nor becomes annoying in the long run.
I suspect the Akra will last as long if not longer then the OEM system, so you buy it once. JMO
