Thanks for you kind words. The fender extender is just something I bought from Louis.eu and no mods to either that or the bike.
No issues on the XT660Z or my XT1200 in regards to clearance.
It must be a Gen1 XT1200 then, as I've been warned to watch out for the extender fouling on skid plate

This is a great read (rather long) of a trip to Mongolia, its probably what sparked my interest. I'm sure Longdog would have seen this on UKGSer at some point.

I have been fortunate to have been able to travel the world for work, for play and for everything in between. its fair to say that in my 40-something years on this earth i've done and seen the things that i really wanted to, be the outcome good and bad.

But what i've not done is see my own country. Only this year have i really started to put stock in where i've been and where i want to go and it was a startling revelation. Now i've traveled within Canada, but destinations were not chosen by me, nor were the sights to be seen.

My mecca... is right here.. in my own backyard, the gateway to the north and beyond, and as long as I get to see, in person, just one time, the Northern Lights (i have an insane fascination for them), then I will leave this lovely blue ball knowing I wouldn't change a thing if I could do it all again

I missed this the first time around. I'm on page 18 so far. I don't think I could do the "no shower for three weeks".

I hear you!!! Especially now with having a grand daughter and being blessed to have my kids want me to be parts of their lives, I'm appreciating where we live. A work trip which will take me away for October is going to be the longest I've been away since retiring toward the end of 2019.

Already teaching her about handlebars!
