What's the safest and least embarrassing way to mount and dismount your Tenere?

It's a sad example of people ridiculing something that they don't understand. Your foot pegs, Dallas' short stature, and many other things. The main reason that I don't participate in the everyday social media. The video of Dallas was initially posted as "slam". While it should have been posted as a motivation. ::009:: I'll shut up now.

No worries Sierra!

I didn't feel insulted in the least. They ARE hard to ignore, after all.
And to be honest, I deserve far more ridicule than I have gotten at times, considering the shenanigans I've pulled. lol

I saw the pics. Liked them. They do have their pros/cons. Main thing is they work for you, and don't bother anybody else.

I cannot think of a reason to have the bike running when mounting. Why start the bike before mounting? I appreciate the "running mount" technique requires the motor to be started but that is a pretty unsafe stunt generally.
As someone else mentioned I do it to warm up the bike. Some people don't believe in the benefits of warming up a bike/car first, but given just the basic physics of it I do believe in it. So I put on my gear except for my gloves, I'll start my bike up then put on my gloves get situated and mount the bike. By then the bike is sitting around 120 degrees (San Diego life is hard), by the time I get down the drive way and start on the road its at running temp, 140ish. I've only owned the bike for about a year, pretty much drive every day and have yet to kick it in gear when mounting :) /knock on wood

For me I like to hear what the engine is sounding like before I put in my ear plugs and don my helmet. I've caught a couple of issues with bikes in the past this way which I mightn't of noticed had I already inserted my ear plugs. I let it warm a little whilst I don my helmet and gloves, taking less than a minute overall I reckon. I've never accidently touched the shifter in all of my almost 40 years of riding doing that. If I did however the bike would immediately stall however, assuming the side stand and clutch interlocks are working properly.
