On the way to work this morning a head light globe blew, bigger. On the way home the other one went, double bigger. I was concerned that there was an underlying problem but there does not appear to be. I hope.
That recall has been done the bike is a 2011. The globe's definitely blew at different times both were ok when I left, one was gone when I arrived at work, the other on the way home. I have not had any problems previously.Gun said:There is the headlight harness recall. One of the symptoms of the inadequate harness is blown globes.
What year is your S10? It could be one of the affected ones. Mine was and the local Yamaha dealer sorted it out with very little fuss.
Cheers mate,

Ceased to illuminate, blwn globes, I did all the wriggle tests on the cabling all seems good. The Globes do not seem to seat into the lamps very well I aspent a while messing with them to sit into the fitting but they seem to fit onto rather than into the back of the lamps.Don in Lodi said:When you say 'blew out' you just mean it went out right? Try giving the harness a wiggle, you might be pleasantly surprised.
The suspension is as it cam out of the factory, I have ridden in the past over some very corrugated tracks and no bother, tomatocity said:How smooth does your front suspension ride? I lost both bulbs because of incorrect suspension settings. Replaced the bulbs, corrected the suspension settings, god to go.
You are quite right there the way the bulbs/globe's go in is certainly not intuitive and to be out messes mightily with beam pattern. If yo look carefully it's very easy to get them 180 degrees out, especially as without a degree of disassembly you can either see or have your hand in there but not both.mcbrien said:You can put your bulbs in wrong and your headlight beam will be all wonky.
I did this then discovered I had the bulbs not seated correctly. Just an fyi
if you have an issue with poor lighting with new bulbs.
