I find it actuially a shame that it's so hard on a bike like this. These are things that you should be able to adjust on the fly (even without tools imho). If I remember correctly even on my very old XJ600S there was a nice little wheel for it.

Things like 2up riding, alot of luggage,... demand an instant adjustment. On my latest trip I had camping gear and the usual gear with me and I normally should have adjusted the beam. I allready have my spring turned to the max with my 105kg, so nothing to change there.

In the neighbourhood of that screw there's nothing that could interfere with a 1" screw or something with a little wheel (just like the XJ600S and I think my old FJR too) for easy adjustment.

Are just on my way out for a testride in the closest hour or so.
I have bought a product called "Vibranators", they are internal bar end weights (works as such, no more no less) BUT the
great thing is that I just use the tool that comes with the Vibranators to make threads for them in any 14 mm internal handlebars,
then I just screw those Vibranators in and they are making the bars an inch or so wider (perfect for the controls) and has threads to
mount the original handguards and bar end weights!

I can report the feel of the handlebars later tonight.

UPDATE. I have taken a good run with the bars, they are great, transfer vibrations slightly less then my previous
SW Motech non shock bars. The vibes those alu bars are more "honest" engine vibrations that imo feels better
then the buzz/resonance from the stock steel handlebars. I now use no risers and the position is close to perfect.
As you can see on the pictures, I have some extra rubber and foam on the handles too..

Im happy for now ;)

Nothing says "outta my way" like 17 tons of steel moving at 100 kmh spitting 200 rounds a minute of 25mm Frangible High Explosive rounds.......and the 660 rounds per minute from the 7.62mm coaxial machine gun ain't bad either.... >:D

Took her for a short ride, then removed the yellow Super Tenere stickers from the front fairing area, then changed the final drive oil. One of those rare days where I felt like tinkering more than riding...it happens sometimes.

Just over 300 miles on her now, so time to rip in. Installed a Rostra cruise kit from Murph's today. Everything seems to have worked on the first try. I do have to pull it back apart to paint the brackets, wrap the wires up, and build a mounting bracket for the control pad.

Also installed the pannier brackets from Happy Trails. Hopefully the panniers will actually ship this week!

Changed the oil over to synthetic. Going for a week long trip at the end of next week we will see wher I end up.

510 miles -- installed wind deflectors, Madstad adjustable windshield mount, changed out seat rubber spacers to lower rear of seat, installed GIVI PLR367 detachable bag mounts ( I like these better than the SW Motech mounts that I have on a DL650) and tested the clutch switch mod with a mini fuse. Very noticeable difference, for the better. Next up will be to splice in the Tusk on/off switch. Also, I plan to copy the heated grip wrap w/heat troller (from Dual Star) installation from my FJR. Using a tip from the FJR forum the heat troller control can be installed inside the left switch housing and easily operated by the edge of a gloved index finger.

Cable to connect the air compreser (repair kit kept under seat, and air compressor in the tank bag)



Quick connect City tank bag (pleanty of room even with the compressoe in it)..Thanks for the advice guys, glad I didnt go with the smaller bag.



Garmin 660 GPS, Touratec handle bar bag and Ram mount phone holder (I use a scala rider to listen to Music, GPS, bike to bike comms and take/make phone calls)



Altrider crash bars (Also fitted every other part they make for the S10)



Twisted Throttle dry bag, also have the D28 (Really good gear, Thanks Mellow your video, convinced me)

Anyway thanks guys for all your posts and for answering my questions. You have all been invaluable help. Special thanks to Twisties for his fuseblock fitting write up and Mellow for taking the time to make his camping gear video. Also all others who post, you help more people than you may realise.

Just got two more things to fit. A Scotts steering Dampner (if they ever make one to fit the S10) and a Ohlins rear shock. Will need help picking a spring for that but that will be another post. Until then Happy Adventures all.

Was at Cycle Gears parking lot sale today. After talking to CRS Tuning they adjusted my stock suspension.

Fork
Preload: showing 1 line
Rebound: 6 clicks
Compression: 6 clicks

Rear
Preload: maximum
Rebound: 6 clicks
Spring: needs replacement or aftermarket shock

Not many miles to test but I really like the changes so far. Holds a turning line at freeway speeds, does not track concrete as it did before, low speed braking dive gone (I think), need to replace the rear spring or aftermarket shock.

Wow, after looking through Camel's build I almost (~almost~) feel embarassed to say that I installed the Kaoko throttle lock yesterday. It did take (nearly) a full two minutes to do the mod tho! Took longer to read the instructions than to slip the thing in place and make the adjustment. One small step at a time.

Thanks for the heads-up on this bag. I've been looking for the perfect sized container for that spot. The Slime air compressor fits there nicely, but there is still room for the rest of the necessary repair kit.

I have tried all the bags you linked, and the one I linked fits the best. The first husky one we use on at work, the second one I use to hold my tool roll and some loose stuff like zip ties on the bike. The one I linked fills that space much better, the others are longer than they are square. Plus the little grommet hole makes it easy to secure, you can see the carabiner in the first photo I used.
