Don't remember on the number of fuel stops, quick ones though, and not good fuel milieage, pushing 90-95 on the GPS the whole way with radar detector. I90 from Billings, MT to hwy 212 by Crow Agency to I90 in SD and across the state to I29 and south to the Omaha, NE area

I know this is an ST site, but riding is riding, especially when it is fun. Rain all day in the Phx valley today. So what did I do at work? Took my C14 duty bike and rode around in the storm for two hours! I was completely soaked in my PD uniform and felt like a little boy on his bicycle in the rain. We are not required to ride in the rain, but it was a blast. Rode the freeway in a very heavy down pour before diving off on to some surface streets. Watched a young punk blow three straight red lights in the rain on right turns without even hitting the brakes. Wrote him three tickets in the rain when I caught up to him. For all those dads out there who didn't like a certain young man in the world, this was him!

So what did I do when I got home? Changed out of my uniform, got on my ST, and took the very long way to the store for a well deserved six pack of beer.

Life is good.

Installed some longer dog bones so the back is 30mm lower. I have short legs, feels very comfortable to be able to put my feet flat down in every situation :)

Now to find the screws to lower my headlight beam. Can't see the screws for it ...

The screws are hard to find, they are behind the headlights, and hard to reach.

Yea, the horizontall ones are easy, but those vertical ones are a PITA ::002::

Who designs that stuff? It's just impossible to reach the screws with a screwdriver. You can't even see them.

So you basically have to get the entire headlight unit out to reach the screws, adjust them, put the unit back in, see if the change is right, get them back out, change again if they aren't right,... ?? Or am I missinig something?

Dropped it off at the shop for the 600 mi service with . . . 600.2 miles on it. Had some traffic issues getting there, but they waited some 10 minutes past closing time for my arrival. Promised me it will behave better after synching. Looking forward to the weekend!

8mm socket and a quarter inch drive ratchet.
Thanks Don. I need to bump the headlights up just a bit. This will make it simpler.

Indeed a good tip, and better for the screws too I think. I turned the horizontal ones a little bit and the cross got a bit more round. Screws made in China I guess :p

You can mess around with those adjustment screws till you're blue in the face and not much will happen. Maybe some left to right adjustment. The easiest way to get the headlights up is to undo those 2 10mm head bolts under the front of the lights and stuff a hose washer under each or any kind of washers, as many as required to get the height adjustment you want. I found a rubber hose washer under each is the perfect height. ::001::

Tried 30 minutes to reach the adjustment screw with a ratchet and sockets with different lengths, didn't work ::002::

Removed the headlight entirely and adjusted the screw with a large amount (I have HID lights, so oncoming traffic will be pleased with a much lower beam). 5 minutes work that way :D

I also removed my Touratech sidestand enlarger. The bike leans nicely now with my 30mm lowering links. I could now see that it's not that good quality. I installed it correctly before but only 1 of the tips touched the ground. De outer tip was always hovering in the air thus affecting the lean angle. After removing it I could also zo that it was bent in the middle.

I don't find the need (yet) to lower the front forks. The bike turns OK for me (I have alot of roundabouts in the neighbourhood, all went fine).
