What did you get for a replacement? Did you go the Motoz DV route?
Same tire... MotoZ Tractionator Adventure so it matches the rear. I can't complain about that tire and it's wear or it's handling. Even with it looking like that. Put some tough miles on that tire. Plenty of curves along with those miles. From Astoria, Oregon down US 101 to Crescent City, CA then down 101 a bit more then cut inland to 96 then turned off on Salmon River rd to Cecilville CA. What a scenic road! Then to Redding, CA going past the Trinity Lake. Back to 101 on US 36 to a really back road/cut off down to 101 just before the PCH. Took the PCH down almost to San Francisco. Went inland to Petaluma. Then back across the valley to Grass Valley then up the mountains and north on 49 out of Grass Valley. Hit US 89 and went north to Lassens volcanic Park then Northwest to Oregon. Went on a lot of gravel past that and wandered up and down a bit into Nevada then up to Boise on over to Yellowstone and then left Yellowstone to go to Cody, Wyoming via the Chief Joseph Hwy. Left Cody for Red Lodge Montana via the CJH and Beartooth pass. Left Red Lodge an headed south to US 14 and went over the Bighorn mountains kept going that day until I got home the next day at 1030 am. So a lot of curves and a lot of hwy high speed. Oh, that tire had probably 1500 miles on it before I mounted it in Astoria.

Ah, the front Tractionator Adventure was discontinued, so I assumed you had to make the change. I hope to get to run those roads in NorCal this summer, they are so epic!

I didn't know that. I was suspicious as it was hard to find. I used to live in Marin County in the 80’s. Fell in love with California riding. Now I live in Illinois so don't see a lot of it. Might take the Wing out but during the summer it can be (to me) brutally hot at 105 unless you're by the coast.

I have had heated jacket liner for over twenty years, used it on Goldwing a lot but never actually attempted hooking it up on the Tenere until about a week ago and found out the cord for my battery charger wouldn’t work. So yesterday I removed that cord and installed the proper cord for my heated jacket liner.

Funny, I use the heated gear on the S10, but not the Goldwing. That said, I'll probably get battery leads for the Goldwing this year.

I put the Rox Risers on and set the handle bars so I have full travel. I have to reach a bit more but when standing it should be real good. Put all my stickers on the top box after it was all cleaned up. Put the new tank pads on. Put the new well nut in for the windshield. I only had three screws to put in the Windshield. I can't find the one that I brought to the Yamaha Shop when I ordered new well nuts. I remember that it was in my jeans pocket for two days. I have looked and looked for it. Yamaha wants almost $5 for the thin plastic washer and $6.79 for the screw! Driving me crazy trying to find it. I'll find it as soon as I get home from buying a new one! While putting the Rox Risers on I was thinking... How am I going to tighten these to torque specs? I couldn't even get a regular Allen wrench in there! Luckily I had acquired some Allen sockets with the ball on the end. I heard you didn't need to be straight down on it with those. I used it and I was at quite an angle but it still torqued to 20#! Awesome.

I am on the lookout for a quarter turn fastener that will work on the windshield. I tried some with the clips and the fit was a little sloppy.

I recently installed the Hippohand Backcounty's before my 1200-mile jaunt down to central Texas. These are the smallest Hippohands available and are designed for dual sports. They have been exactly what I was looking for. My hands never got cold (lows in the 30's) nor too hot (highs in the 70's), and they stayed dry during two pretty intense thunderstorms I passed through. I had the Alcan's a few years ago, and they were way too big for most things, but they were great for commuting in the wet side of the PNW.

I wired my battery tender to the right side of the gas tank. It can be tucked in so it’s out of view and can be used as an auxiliary power source. Also did the Heli bar install and lastly I made a template and installed some 3M protective film to the base of the fuel tank to prevent the seat from wearing the paint.

Hahaha whining about a few dollar fasteners whilst using a 600USD torque wrench :D You sir made my day! Just funny, not bullying to be clear

No direct to the battery.
At first, I also had it directly to the battery, but something didn't keep me calm, so I put a fuse as soon as it came out of the + terminal (I had a lot of doubts about the + wire) running through the chassis and along with it ( -) wire….

I agree that a fused line is safer than one without. The tender wire and wire insulation I used is double in size of what normally comes packed in the battery tenders so I feel at comfortable that it will be safe. For the better part of the year the wire will be unused with no load. The only exception being if I have a flat tire I will use it for my air compressor. In the winter season it will be used for 5 months under low load and voltage (120v not 220v as in Argentina)as its intended purpose. I do appreciate you bringing it to my attention and If I find it keeping me up at night I will definitely be installing one on the bike.

You mean 12v? Or are you trying to say you're going to be running an inverter off the SAE lead? What wattage of inverter? What's the gauge of the SAE lead? My only concern is that you're not running it so hot that you melt the insulation on the SAE lead, which is what the fuse is meant to stop from occurring if it's correctly sized to the gauge of the lead.

Sorry I was referring to the input voltage of the tender itself, if it were to somehow short itself out and cause a electrical feedback to the motorcycle battery. Honestly I'm not even sure if thats possible. As far as the guage being the correct size I have to rely on the compressors SAE lead (see picture) and assume everything will be correct. I suppose it wouldnt hurt to give it a test run and check the wires for excessive heat. comp.jpg
