This morning I checked the plugs, measured the gap and refitted them. Not due for change yet. But i did find one problem that caused poor starting and variable idling. The rubber cap that closes the right connection for TBS sync had a small tear. Fixing this helped a lot! After that I did a TBS sync, wasn’t that far off but is perfect now. Really like the Morgan Carbtune Pro, awesome tool!

Already had the Bumot cases on, but added Cool Covers to the seat. Very happy with this mod.
Next to that received (and added) the blue eyed Touareg tankpad, which matches the tank super!!
Happy man, and everything in time for a two week holiday which starts tomorrow..
Making a two week trip in Zeeland and Friesland. Both in the Netherlands, great touring areas!!

Why do you do that midseason? And not in winter?

Mainly since I ride year round. There are only a few days (typically) that I really can't ride due to ice or extreme snowfall, of course each winter varies slightly. Otherwise, single digit temps and light snow is not a deterrent. And I have a trip planned for later this month that involves some off road travel, so I'm looking forward to the new suspension for that!

Ah that explains a lot! Getting an upgrade or overhaul?

Upgrade...don't ask me particulars, I don't know! LOL I told Terry at NorWest what I thought about how the bike handles and asked him to fix it! I've never spent money on upgraded suspension parts, just had the stock suspension tuned to me and me gear. Terry adjusted my R12GS and made it incredible! My Stelvio just didn't have enough adjustablility in the stock set up, but he made it better. I blew the rear shock in Moab and he rebuilt that for me. I was gonna have him upgrade the forks, but decided to try the Tenere first. Sold the Stelvio and figured I'd go ahead and sexy up the Tenere!

First, I finished the install of my PC-8. Man, it hurt to cut up the plastic on that panel to make it fit; luckily it was like 95 degrees today so the plastic was nice and soft. I not only had to chop out a vertical brace, I had to lop off the tab that the Cruise and Stop Lamp fuses mount to. Being hot, it also made wrangling the PC-8 harness a lot easier. The worst part was that the "semi-captive" nut on the positive post of the battery just would not cooperate. Took me more than 20 damn minutes to get that terminal bolt back in, dropping the nut at least 5 times including once into the skidplate. I mounted the fusebox using Double Lock, and I wired up the new GPS cradle. I bought a splitter from Eastern Beaver for the aux-light plug, so the relay for the PC-8 is wired, and there's still a proper connector for an aux light if I ever get that sorted, and I re-used the dummy connector from the factory plug on the unused branch of the splitter.

I also got the Doubletake mirrors swapped in, and mounted a Ram ball to one side of the GPS bar.

No pictures because I was frikken hot and tired (did I mention it was 95 today?), and had no patience to drag out the install any further by stopping to take pictures.

However, the pic Fpalbrecht posted in this thread: https://yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?threads/wiring-harness-source-for-mounting-an-aux-lightbar.30241/#post-446388
is exactly how I did my PC-8, except that I ran the main power across the top of the wiring tangle, and down behind the battery leads, so the relay and fuse boxes are tucked up with all the other relays at the top of the panel.

The only piece I have left to mount is the factory headlight guard I picked up. By the time I had finished the wiring fight, I was frustrated, tired, slightly dehydrated, and feeling imminent heatstroke. I was starting to randomly fumble and drop bits of the Doubletakes and the Ram ball components, so I put off the guard until next week. I'll mount it up next Thursday evening, so it'll be ready for the Hampster that weekend.

Here are some pics of the bike with the headlight guard mounted, and some detail of the GPS mount "conglomeration" I created. The mount is a Motopumps clamp base, supporting a Touratech locking cradle for the 396, and then I added a cheap shade I found on Amazon that I removed the cheap elastic from and engineered velcro straps for. I added bumpers to the shade so it is properly supported against the Touratech mount.

Did all the Lake District in 2018 it's fantastic. Not to far to bomb into Yorkshire either Rob. Enjoy.
