Last night I added bar risers (and discovered the lower bolts on the bar clamps to be fingertight only...) and adjused seat to high setting. Also fitted a ram mount and phone holder. Givi top box plate tonight and hopefully some led aux lights and heated grips in the next couple of days...

After pretty long winter did my very first 20 something km-s on my brand new 2018ZE Raid Edition. What a ride! Everything is just perfecto, seems to suit for my body without any adjustments needed: handlebar, windscreen, saddle, suspension. I knew from my test ride 2 y back that this is a very comfy bike, but I was truly amazed how good it really is. I am looking forward for many miles to come.
Congratulations, I rode my new '18 Tenere ES home two days ago.
Still a bit too cold. Be sure to observe the break in procedure, that is go slow.
Agree, it's a great ride. I'm adding extra LED lights crash bars and an extra 12 volt socket outlet. The bike's aux socket is fused at at 2 or 3 AMPS.
Be safe and always wear your gear.

Isn't it great to have a bike that exceeds your expectations? I had a well farkled FJR 1300 with electric clutch before and thought that nothing could ever beat it. Well, it seems I was wrong. Riding the ST is so effortless and natural that I am speechless.
By the way, I always ride ATGATT, literally always, even the shortest trip and in the hottest weather.

Which bar risers did you go for? I've just fitted some that shipped from a place in Turkey.

New Mitas E07 + Dakars. We'll see how the newer plus works out, loved the original. Spooned them on the other day. New wheel bearing showed up so installed them and new seals. Balanced the assemblies, torqued the spokes and tied the spokes. I had never tied the spokes, and never had an issue. Going farther from help on the next ride so I am just covering bases.

I will get them back on the bike tomorrow, and hoping my buddy gets my side case mounts fabbed up so I can get that done.

A couple more additions to the S10 today.

Received my Wind-Deflectors from "Slipscreens"

IMG_3987.JPG

Installation was super-easy, using the longer screws that were provided with the Wind-Screen Braces.

Since it snowed here this afternoon, I'll have to wait till it warms up to try them out.

I'll be curious as to how they affect airflow...............Paired with a cheap $39.00 "knock-off" Wind-Screen extension that I ordered off Ebay. (it looks like an MRA Xcreen deflector, but it's a Chinese copy)
This is the kind that clamps to the top edge of any Wind-Screen.
I installed it a few weeks ago, and it reduced the buffeting I was getting by about 75%.

Also received the Headlight Protector Film from Lamin-X.
I ordered the pre-cut ones for the S10..............I also ordered a universal Sheet for a couple other projects.

Their Film is really thick. I mainly wanted it for stone-protection.
I ordered them in Yellow.

IMG_3988.JPG

The Film is pretty easy to affix to the Headlamps. It comes slightly bigger than you need, so you have to trim a little for an exact fit, but it was simple to do with the provided knife.
It stretches and molds to the curved shape of the lenses, and the adhesive works really well.
I cleaned the lenses really well before I started.

One side done.

Light difference between the two. I have OEM Halogen bulbs.

Both sides done.

The last thing I did today was install a stone/mud deflector to the front of the Engine, where the Skid-Plate bolts to.

One thing I noticed about this bike when riding gravel roads or through mud, is that with a more aggressive tire on the front it likes to chuck little stones or mud up under the gauge cluster, and on top of the Engine. A few times I've had little stones or mud spray come through the opening for the Forks at me.
I wanted to try and deflect most of that (without installing a "Fenda-Extenda") by making some sort of shield.

I used a spare piece of flimsy aluminum sheet from the front of an old Dishwasher.

Marked an drilled the holes.
IMG_3995.JPG

Bent it and painted it Satin-Black.
IMG_3997.JPG

Installed it with a length of sliced vacuum-hose as an edge protector.

It is 5.5-inches away from the front Fender, but is flimsy enough to just get pushed away if the Fender were to contact it.
I'll keep an eye on it in case it needs adjusting or the design needs tweaking.

Maybe you should patent your invention. Well done!!

Installed my HeliRiser today , Test rode and give it a 2 thumbs up. Nice improvement. On a side note , when removing the existing cap , only found one bolt tight out of the four. Need to spend some time with the bike and go over every nut and bolt on it !

Got out for a local ride on Friday.
Rounded up a few other hungry Tenere owners along with one of those other brands and had a very good lunch at a local old English style pub. :)

Also installed GP Kompozit rear hugger.
My brand new unridden, zero km Super10 and me are anxiously waiting for this crappy Ontario weather to clear.View attachment 54028View attachment 54029View attachment 54030View attachment 54031View attachment 54032View attachment 54033
Ya, me too. I rode my new '18 Tenere home from London, Ontario on Tuesday (3 C) and aside from a short ride yesterday afternoon I've been in the garage busy adding some farkles.
Three LED lights, as the OEM lights are shit. I removed the plastic panniers and hid them in the basement.
Added an extra 12 volt socket outlet on the handlebars to power an air pump, tubeless tyres ya know. Buy yourself a pump Walmart $20. along with a tubeless tyre repair kit and install a socket outlet capable of powering the pump. The bike's OEM aux plug is fused at 2 or 3 AMPS only, insufficient to power an air pump.
Also too, I put my SW MOTECH crash bars on.
Note: you can remove and install the RH panel that covers the electrical and fuse areas, but the LH side is different.
You must remove the crash bar on the left side to remove the left panel. FYI. I speak from experience.
Got a set of soft waterproof saddlebags from Amazon today.
Haven't figured out if they will fit onto the Tenere.
So, congratulations on your new S-10. I'm looking forward to another great season of riding.
Ah shit, looked outside and it is snowing.
