Well I finally got to give the reflashed ECU (thanks Anthony!) a test ride over the past 2 days in the CO front range mountains, and it was truly eye opening. The bike runs fantastic at all speeds and is smooth everywhere except for the 3-4k rpm range, which I atribute to the bike still having it's original clutch basket. That's another project to do soon. I will post more of my thoughts on the reflashed ecu on the appropriate thread. I was lucky to have such unseasonably warm weather here in CO, and my condolences to all of you in the east that just got a nasty dose of snow and cold. Spring is right around the corner!

The oem Super Tenere, as nice as it is, is delivered "unfinished".
You can wait for years, or immediately have it flashed. But until you do, you don't know how really nice that engine runs.

And I assure you that clutch basket upgrade is not a subtle improvement either!

Bet you were all grins. :)

You got that right! As I've said earlier, I didn't know that the ST wasn't a great bike as delivered until I ran into you lot! ::025::

New rubber, Shinko e-705's, backrest for the wife (heated) and a custom seat. Found I didn't like the slope in the stock one, had it flattened and .5 inch of gel put on top. Much more comfortable now. It was almost 50 today, so I was able to get out and enjoy testing the new feel. Only rode 250 miles, 50 on gravel and dirt roads, but it was really enjoyable. Like the feel of the new tires better than the old battlewings.

Plug my tire. Was checking my tread to see how soon I would need to replace my tire and saw a nail. 3rd one in this bike. All better....at least for the next few thousand miles.

Installed new Mitas E07's
New rear brakes
Did the seat modification to level it
Installed new spark plugs
Changed the air filter
Changed oil and filter

Time to watch the weather for the day I can get it out for that first ride of the season!!! ::26:: Lots of salt on the roads here lately so we need a good rain.

Took her out for the second ride in two days. Trying to send winter on her way! A little cool yesterday in Northern Illinois, but better today. Actually ran the first half today with the heated grips off. Practiced some exercises from the MC Rider videos. A little rusty from lack of riding.

Did lube the throttle cables and housing/heater wire a couple days ago. One of those things on the PM list, but looked pretty good when I took it apart.

Added a Puig screen, an OEM Yamaha bash plate that I painted black, and moved my fastway pegs to lower the pegs by 0.5 inches or so. Adjusted the brake and shifter to compensate for the lower pegs and lubed both with Krytox.

Finally got around to washing, checking spokes, checking fasteners. A-OK

Went for a ride, second since the 600 mile service. Still sight glass completely full, even when tilted on side stand (I know that I should not use that as gauge) but after they tried to charge me for 4 litre of oil and I questioned the volume, it bothered me. So drained the new oil out, OUCH!! And low and behold, 600ml over, refilled with 3.1l and all good now.

You know the drill, dry sump, not such a worry.

Day 3 of a 1300 mile ride for me today. Not camping, and beautiful weather. Did see 104f intake temp yesterday, but it was really only 97f in Phoenix, AS when we rode thru. Best Western now, spoiling the bride after yesterday's sketchy Days Inn. Nice free brekkie now. ::012::

I know I know ::010:: but 600 ml over is too much, don't need plugs fouling......
Enjoy your Best Western ::008::

1300 miles stretched over more than a couple of days?

Slacking for you! Lol
Barely a jaunt, in your adventures.

Best Western is home away from home to me. Although their recent branding-signage change is an assault on my familiarity zone.
Modernization marketing, I suppose. I didn't require it. :)

I agree on the BW new branding. Trying to sway a new generation away from AirBnB I suppose.

I quit my parks job last week. We'll be homeless by May 5th. Major changes going on now preparing for being moto vagabonds. And yes, riding days are slowing down from our endurance rally days. Seriously considering stepping up to a Gen II as well.

@Pterodactyl - Nice service work. ::008:: Don't forget that your settings may need a tweak after the fresh fork oil.
