Installed a Fuzeblock FZ1. Easy install. Tapped into the aux light lead using connections from Cycle Terminal. Super fast delivery from Cycle Terminal.

In 2018 they will have the Dempster done all the way to the Arctic Ocean. 600 miles of gravel one way.
Pencilled in, so I might see you on the road. I don't want to join you though as Troll told me too much about you!

Hopefully it will be a year when the Dempsteris in good condition like I experienced this year. ('Good' is a relative term of course.)

Fitted some Pivot Pegz. Haven't been for a ride yet but I can tell already just standing on the pegs on the centre stand I can reach the shifter and rear brake now while standing.

I have limited movement and strength in my left ankle and i can now get to the shifter and shift much easier as well very happy with the purchase, money well spent.

Had a great day today! Tomatocity stopped by with a Yamaha side case that he had taking up space in his garage, as it had been broken when his bike went over in a slow fall in deep mud. The amazing gift he gave me was his side case was mostly in good shape. One of the best parts of the Yamaha cases is they can be taken apart, and broken peices can be replaced! So, we took apart the broken case, removed the one broken part on mine (leading black edge piece broken by a deer strike), and replaced it with a good piece from his old case. Voila!!! Good as new side case. Except for a little deer blood still on the case (and I've washed it twice!), it looks like new again. ::015::
Much thanks to Tomatocity for his very gracious generosity, and to Yamaha for making a product that can be repaired instead of thrown away. Good job Yamaha! I know there are many really good choices for luggage for the Tenere. I am sold on the Yamaha, as even after the case was slightly damaged in a deer strike, it stayed water tight and secure on the bike.

Replaced the rear brake pads. Took me longer to look up the torque value than actually changing the pads. ::013::Talk about design done right!!

Bike continues to take shape. Seat lowered, and tank is protected by 3M so I can get a tank bag on if/when necessary. AltRider crash bars and ACD skid plate installed.

I have to agree, it does look pretty good. I know my wife agrees...

Scales of me holding onto this bike long term are not necessarily swinging in my direction.

Don't fight it, it will be her's anyway and all you'll do is wear yourself out. Enjoy your loaner ::025::

I'm not fighting it just yet. She has not made her move to steal the bike out from underneath me. If (when) it happens , it will likely be next year. The deciding factor will be the colors the '16 models are wearing. Whatever she deems "prettier" will end up her bike. I know how this stuff works.

Did my very first 2-up Tenere ride. After more than 50K Tenere miles, 3 Teneres, and almost 4 years of ownership, I finally felt qualified to take a passenger.

Okay, maybe it's because my daughter lost all interest, went away to college for 4 years, and had a lot going on. But she gave me a ride coupon for Christmas in 2013, and now that I have a top box on the bike I cashed it in. Nice to have her back. Hope I get another coupon someday.

It did give me a chance to try out the electronic suspension. Set the bike in 2 passenger and flipped around between the soft/standard/hard. Much to my surprise it actually made a difference. I'm still a suspension Neanderthal, but I may be learning something despite myself.

Changed out the OEM rear brake pads with 27k miles on them. Probably should have done it last week.

My rear pads came off at 22,000. Yesterday I checked the fronts at 30,000 I still have 3.5mm left cleaned them up and put em back in.

Great looking bike DD! It was a scorcher here TNWalker and I got out for a while but heat was oppressive.

Let her have the 2015 ES. The 2016 ES might have more improvements.

Installed a Whelen LED flashing brake light. Installed one of these on my GL1800 and I would not ride without one.

Very nice looking ride Dirt Dad. I am not sure why but the gray front fender looks great on that red bike. I like it. Outside of the great deal on a 2014 I sometimes wish I had waited for the red.

Had help on an oil change a week ago. Was talking about it and said something about two drain plugs Yesterday he said what 2 plugs. So today I drained (and tossed yamaha semi) perfectically good oil and put in three quarts. Will check it tomorrow and top it off. Since the front was not drained I did it first then thought You Idiot drain the rear then see how much comes out the front.

(Then thought why is the drain pan dirty as that would be great lawn mower oil!]

Oh well better safe than sorry since 3-4 K starting next Saturday.
