Today I rode to my local dealer, inquired about the headlamp harness recall (he wasn't aware), told him what Yamaha had directed me to do, then proceeded to go for a wonderful ride. Logged just over 160 miles. 70 degrees, kind of gusty winds but I don't notice the wind as much on the Super Ten as I did on my ST1300. Now have the bike back in the garage in anticipation of tonights ice and tomorrows 28 degree forecast.

Congrats on the new bike. Interested in your comparisons of the 2 bikes. Before deciding on the super tenere the triumph 800 was my second choice.

Getting ready to leave tomorrow. Washed the Tenere, fitted the panniers and a tail bag, started packing. Added a couple locations to the Garmin zumo 660. Got to go to Cycle Gear to get a tool and some socks.

Have a good/safe trip Tim..
I'd like to see(doesn't mean I'm going to get to) a pic or two of your panniers and tail bag..

As for Grey....I took the stock seat and pillion off yesterday and drove down to seat concepts here in so.cal.
Within an hour they had the firm foam and gripper/carbon covers on for 250 cash..out the door. I had a hell of a time getting the main seat in place until I took the middle rubber bumpers out and trimmed then down half way with an exacto blade...clicked right in like a seatbelt.
Now my wife is up a bit and back a tad...the padding is firmer..and overall, much sharper looking then stock.
Also added 30mm of height, to the stock bars.

Don't be silly, you know the 'Busa rider never looked in his mirrors until he was passed.

I put about 260 or so miles on her while following Greg around the wet yet fun rolling coastal mountains of So Cal. We hit a very open stretch of road between Ocotillo Wells and Borrego Springs that has a lot of rolling rises through the desert....TC off, triple digits, lofting the front wheel down the back side of each rise watching the speedo read 90 or so and then JUMP up to 105 when the wheel lands....yeah yeah yeah...I know speedo is not accurate who cares...all good fun....I not sure either me or Greg stopped smiling till much later that night. ::013::

700 miles coupled with lotsa laughs with a great friend, some home-town family time, and now a Margarita with my sweetie under glorious Florida sunshine. Weekends don't get much better...

Tenere performed flawlessly, of course...

Sounds like a fun day. Sounds like I will need a map to find Greg. It should be dry for the next six days or that is what I am telling myself 8)

Tim,
You are going to really enjoy riding with Greg. He is a very spirited rider and has great energy. He is a good story teller. Willy seemed like a really cool guy too.

side note, Greg tells me his wife was concerned when he was making these plans and said "what if this Kelly guy is some axe murderer or something"...I started cracking up because my wife said the EXACT same thing to me about Greg. We had a good laugh. Many non riders just do not understand the bond bikers have....excluding the 1% criminals and some punks, the vast majority of bikers are good people and are willing to look out for each other.

Yaw are hilarious. :)

Drove into the office after church and a nap. Think it was about 70F. Overcast, but really nice. (and dry)

Walked outta the office about 11pm to ride home. WTH???
38F, windy, and raining?
I didn't bring gear for that!

I know you northeners have it worse. So I sound whiney. But this winter is stuck in brutal attack mode. It's march on the Gulf of Mexico, for crying out loud.

How did you get those bumpers to stick to the ceiling?

Also, it looks like your seat is on upside down. ;D
Flip your computer, for an improved visual interpretation...

I do everything internet related with an IPad.
I must have taken all my pictures with this gadget upside down.
