I put on a parka a trudged through the snow in -20C to gaze lovingly at Big Blue, and to dream of my posting to the Pentagon this summer, where I will have a 10 or 11 month riding season, instead of the 5-6 months I get now!
I do ride 12 months a year here in the DC area. It requires the use of an electric vest, glove and heated grips, you can do it. Not every week, but there's never been a month that has fully kept me off the bike.

As far as pellet supplies, mine will burn hard wood, soft wood, corn, or sunflower seeds. I've never seen massive bags of sunflower seeds, and I have to think corn would be expensive as hell, but it claims to burn them all.

I finished my custom skid {pics in a thread by that same name} and have been riding every day....we have had a few temps WAY down overnight in the mid 30*F....brrr :D

In So. Cal. we can ride EVERY day unless you live above 4k' elevation, then you can only ride 300 days a year. My area has had the occasional day in the 30s, and overnight temps occasionally in the high teens....bet VERY rarely. Most days in the winter are 40 ish over night and 60 ish day temps in the winter....summer is harder fore us. Night temps are great in the 70s but days can get very hot. The hottest I have seen here was 118*F but our average summer temp runs about 100*. Kind of tough riding temp over 100* if you are an ATGATT person, I am not. I ride in shorts and T-shirts in the summer with an open face lid....yeah yeah I am dumb, I know. I do not even own a car though so I gotta ride and if it is hot it is hot.

Drooled over the new Blue sitting in the shop & then went over all the bolt on goodies I need to order. Called my buddy I told him we are going to ride this weekend since the weather going to be nice.

I installed a powerlet outlet on the LH dash panel (opposite the OEM power outlet). Now I can plug my battery tender in, as well as power my gps. Took about 2 hours to do the job, largely because I removed the headlamp trim and assembly to run the cable thru that area. Also took a bit of time as I noticed that my battery tender red light would flicker when I jiggled the powerlet plug. Turns out that after nine years, one of the cable ends had pulled loose from its set screw inside the plug and thus wasn't making a positive connection (I'd been getting a green light all the time....never occured to me that it wasn't connecting properly).

Here are a couple pics of my installation....

It looks cool. What is the extra powerlet for?

Just finished install of Denali PowerHub2. Put it under the main seat-easy to get to it. Santa's LP530 driving lights precipitated a total re-wiring of the stuff that was "temporarily" wired in over the past year. Took 3 days with interruptions and all. Tested fine. No blown fuses or fires. :).
Too late to test the 530's. Will do it tomorrow night on I-15 in Cajon Pass. Intend to aim them down a bit to run them with main headlights on low beam.

The OEM outlet is a cigarette lighter style and is only fused at 5 A. You cannot run your battery tender through it nor can you use a portable air compressor if needed. I prefer the powerless because it gives you more options. Plus the power let outlet is a more secure fastener than a cigarette lighter style. Your plugs or connectors won't vibrate out of it

Thank you for the information. I have indeed learnt something. I must confess, I am not technically gifted. ::025:: ::025::

I added a rox bar raiser and a rideon Foot pad. Both are of excellent quality. The rox is a winner. I did not know how much I have suffered with low handlebars until I intalled the rox. Oh my word. No vibration, I stand and can still grab a fistful of the handles. I think if I should add a flexxi bar, the riding bliss will be complete.

Mzee,

I know some folks think we are crazy raising the bars so high. But I'm glad to hear you immediately saw the benefit while standing.

With proper pegs and correct grip location, this bike is a stand-while-riding marvel. So balanced and sure footed. I just ride and ride and ride. Love it.

Unleashed my ECU ::015:: Thank you Riva Motorsports Miami. Another happy ECUnleashed customer. Big grins coming home. TC light came on a lot while 'testing' ::013:: Must be the K60's.
They did a Dyno before and after, no tuning. A 4 Hp increase and the same for Torque.

Can you get a pic of that dyno graph? If the 4 HP increase is peak, I wonder if there is more than 4HP and torque in the midrange.
That's what mine feels like with the butt dyno.

Thanks

I wonder how accurate Dyno testing with a K60 is? Anyway congrats and yes its a great mod. Yes after the flash it will just spin the tire with the 60!

No dyno needed. Don't care what the actual number is. What mattered was from the moment I started it up with the new programming, the WAHOO needle moved in the right direction. A lot!

Besides, the number, whatever it is, ain't very high. But the Tenere might be the most fun you can have at the fairly common 100.

From my short test riding I did of about 10kms, I returned home to exclaim to missus that the difference the new raisers have made is like wearing high heels vs low heeled shoe. She said to me now you know why women wear high heels. Snakebitten awesome! Even the level of the arms from bar to shoulder feels great, among other benefits. This was technically speaking a very good investment.
