Installed a few more little farkles. First, a new RAM mount, which I attached to the front brake reservoir clamp. Secondly, a Fenda Extenda. I have used these before, but the design has changed. Instead of four self-tapping screws, it now comes with four plastic push-in rivets. The instructions required the drilling of 4 mm holes, but just try to find a metric drill bit in North America. I used a 5/32" bit, which is close enough to 4 mm that it worked just fine.
Cheers,
Bruce

Did you test full compression with the Fenda Extenda on? They have been known to catch on the bash plate and rip off.

It wasn't on my bike, but on my dad's Tenere in MI. I installed the Oxford heated grips and some fog lights to his bike. Now the cool days of autumn will warm his hands. Enjoy Dad!

Bruce,

Squeeze the front brake lever and see if your pivot flexes. I attempted to use RAM mount like that on my old bike and my lever perch would flex reducing overall brake power and feel.

Washed, aired the tired, checked the oil level, and loaded it for a 3 day Northern California motel trip.

On the 25th I leave for a 6 day camping trip.

Thanks, ac. I rode the Super Ten to work this morning and everything is functioning perfectly. The front brake clamp remains as solid as a rock. No flex. ::003::

Best regards,

Bruce

I changed the oil for the second time and installed a PIAA horn to replace the beep-beep stock horn.

Returned from a 3 day 900 mile motel trip. Had plans, they changed, had a very good riding time.

Installed the PIAA LP530 lights. Put them on the front most point on the AltRider crashbars.

Removed the panniers from a 3 day trip. Getting ready to clean the Tenere, replace the brake pads, flush the brake system, and get ready for a 6 day camping trip. Have another 3 day trip planned after the camping trip.

Preparing the trip.

A nice farewell to my beloved Super Ten: 3000 km in the Alps and 400 off road to go to the 30th anniversary Ténéré Meeting in Bonaduz (Switzerland).

Well I finally got to ride the old girl again (against my wife's protestations) after emergency gall bladder removal last Thursday. Hadn't ridden in over two weeks, and even had some valve clacking when I first fired her up. Didn't stray far, and took it real easy - just wandered around the local area for about an hour.

Only the second time I've ridden her since getting the reflash, and it really made me wonder how many more Tenere's Yamaha would sell if the bike rode this way from the factory - what a difference!

First time I'd ridden her since painting the rear seat pan, rear grab handles, rear pegs and brackets, exhaust cover, and heal guards black. Stopped by the piece of property we're buying out on the tip of an island to build-on in a couple of years, and snapped a couple of pics with the iPhone...

View from the back of the property...
