Gave it a good thrashing. Deep sand/gravel followed by mud only to be stopped by the 2ft deep ruts. Came out eventually after some prying. Check engine light with code 42 was on for the rest of the ride but ran perfect. Quick Google says rear wheel speed sensor so I'll have to hose it down and look into that tomorrow.
This bike is awesome!!!

I performed an experiment...

The ST does excellent standing and rolling burnouts, with Heidenau's and the CJM.

I tested my new National Cycle V Stream windscreen. 25 miles of interstate at 80 mph and it gets a thumbs up. I wish I'd had it for the trip to Ouray. I didn't feel like I was going 80 and my music was easier to hear. I felt like there was a bigger pocket of still air compared to the stock screen. I have the Madstad bracket and kept it installed. I have my GPS on it and like it. I bought the sport screen and raise it for the slab and lower it for the back roads and dirt roads. It doesn't wiggle anymore than the stock screen. I notice the stock screen is wider at the bottom the V Stream is widest at the top. I had to get tinted to get the short screen I guess I'll get used to it. I found some Civil War markers. Forrest crossed the Tn river here in Clifton.

This one is close to home. The Battle of Beardstown. According to the sign the the Federals fought while retreating all the way to Centerville my hometown.

I ended up with a 180 mile day and thought about how easy I have it compared to ancestors.

added rigid dually d2 lights, very bright ,flood pattern for the deer . 200.00 dollars easy install . the hardest part was routing the wires so not to be obvious .... they are way bright .... if the cops don't pop me a good value for a led light... if they become a problem i'll put them on my z-71. check them out guys 200 dollars , Denali lights start at 209 , Clearwater ,forget it there starting price at 375 and up to 900 plus.... and i'm buying two more sets for my z-71, one driving one flood and still 300 dollars less than Clearwater new top of the line lights.... remember money ain't cheap . ::015::

Took my freshly mounted [ rear] Tourance EXP out to scrub it in. Forgot just how squirrely it is in deep gravel, handled much better when it was flattened out. Got 6000 miles out of the last one and the front is still plenty good. As soon as I wear this set out I'm set on getting a more aggressive tire for my off road exploits I did however find a shovel for camping, just need to build a trailer for it..

Drained and refilled the final drive. Cleaned the rear of the Tenere, cleaned the windshield and mirrors. Ready for a beautiful evening ride.

15 minute oil change became a 5 hour job.

1) Stripped a bolt holding on my bash plate. In my wisdom, I used one of those ball end hex keys due to limited area - Lesson learned, don't use a ball end hex key on a tight hex bolt.

2) Took off crash guards to get to screw to remove it. That was actually the easy part.

3) Changed oil - Easy

4) Put bash plate back on the crash guards - Easy

5) Tried to put crash guards back on bike - cross threaded a bolt - Spent the next hour or so trying to get it out so I could clean up the threads. Finally took a dremel, cut it off and then punched out the bolt reminant with a punch. ARGHHHH

6) Off to Ace Hardware to get new bolts and nuts.

7) Had to stop job due to prior commitments for that evening.

8 ) Had a scheduled ride the next day - Glad I have a backup bike!

9) After ride, had a concert to go to. Had a great time!

10) Still not done, bolts are sitting in my garage ready for installation on my S10. That is now my evening task.

11) Commuted to work on my other bike.

Funny thing is I've changed the oil on this bike twice with the crash guard in place. Never had a problem before!

Arghhh! I really wanted to get out and put some miles on my S10 this weekend. :'(

Some days just go like that. As soon as I can see it MIGHT be one of those days, I retire to my lounger and have a glass of tea.

I consider it God's way of telling me to take the day off. :)

Had it took a nap...

Either took it into too much ... or i'm not pilot enough...

Casualty:
it hit during the ascent...

realize it came loose and had begun to unscrew by the time i got out of the wood, maybe 2 or 3 turn... lucky i saw that before hitting the road. ???
Probably even more lucky the bottom of the FD didn't got cracked; that would have been bad :'(

Another casualty:

A rock pushed on the hose, just enough to loose the banjo bolt and create a leak

At first when i saw the oil on the galiper I tought it was coming from the FD, so I took the road... Only to have the surprise of feeling the brake pedal going down to the bottom  ???

Inspection again to discover the real problem, ended up removing ABS fuse and using only fron brake...

All in all... A lesson that didn't cost me too much: stay on smoother road... Keep away from washed out steep hill! ::021::

Finally washed all the Colorado dirt off!
I just can't do that. I want to. I should. Heck, Tabasco tore his down and went through it. All I could do was clean the gauges, wind shield, and wipe the mud off the Blue painted surfaces.
