Its just like a can of spray paint but it is some kind of durable rubber. I remember a lot of folks on the Corvette forum use to paint their wheels with it because it was durable, but if they didnt like it they could just peel it off and have the original finish. As far as I know you can only get it in black, white, and clear. They sell a primer, too but I didnt use that.

I picked it up from Home Depot for about $6/can. took about half a can to do the exhaust shroud.

It comes in different colors. Go to Dipyourcar.com and check out the cars and colors available. I did my bags in black. My Buddy just put a Camo pattern on the plastics of his GSA. Looks great.
You can now get a Gloss coat to put on top of the Matte finish if you prefer a shiny look. I will let you know how the matte finish holds up when I get back from Colorado end of July. ;D

Actually, it took several evenings, but I installed and got the initial set-up done with my new Penske 8983 rear shock, and I mounted a set of Flexx handlebars from Fasstco.com. First test rides have been just on rough pavement, crossing deep gutters and things like that, but WOW, what a difference! ::015:: I'm 6'4", 225 lbs with riding gear and carry another 65 pounds in panniers and tank bag. The new Penske shock with 850-lb spring is a happy surprise! Thanks to AVC8130 and Nick at Stoltec Moto for all the help in getting the shock set up right. The Flexx handlebars help level out my forearms, and I sit straighter and more comfortably on the S10. This is gonna be fun!

Added an unswitched power port and an unswitch SAE connector.

So now I'm ready for charging phones, tablets, Sena's, and trickle charging too.
6 days before heading out. So looking forward to it.

No snow!

Colorado?
Colorado Front Range - between Denver and COS. 7500-8000 ft elevation ... not sure it applies at all to Ouray. :-(

I know Breck still has snow over 8500 ft

I removed the stickers on the tank & rack & some left-over baked-on sticker glue that was from something removed before I got the bike...then I waxed that pretty blue paint.

I used the fingernail & WD-40 method...I wonder if "glue-gone" would have worked better?
This glue was fairly resistant to the WD-40, which has worked well for me in the past, on other bikes.

Did the air screw adjustment on my TB's. After the Yamaha dealer looked at it and said "that's just the way they are".

How do ya like it so far? I'm enjoying mine so much more since I did the adjustment. It just makes the ride so much smoother and cleaner on/off throttle.

On another note, I tried to Plasti-Dip my top case today.... Its not going well. I tried to tape off my corners and the tape peeled up some of the plasti-dip. I tried to touch it up but I think I'm going to wind up peeling it all off.

Plasti Dip makes a "sheet". If you want to use tape, run a razor blade along the tape line before you peel the tape off and that should break the "sheet".

Don't feel bad. I used Goo Gone. Those stickers have the best adhesive I have ever countered. Nothing but a consistent effort worked.

I used Goo-Gone, WD-40, rubbing alcohol... basically everything short of mineral spirits and paint thinner and I still couldn't get all that glue off.
