Got the hardware side of the GPS install done.

Mounted to the RKA In Charge tank bag. I knew I wanted it mounted in portrait orientation.

The plate lines up perfectly with the AMPS pattern

A little fuzzy, but the reverse angle

For the wiring, I split open the jacket, to separate the power and serial cables. These share a common ground, so I had to get creative to shorten the power (and add a 12v cigarette plug).

Final location of everything. The SR10 passes audio, and you can see the serial cables tucked away for future use with my Ham radio (yet to be purchased).

Did the last of the prep for Colorado, oil and filter, final drive, new K-60s and brake pads. FWIW, K-60s are an SOB to put on using nothing but tire irons!

Did a 280 mile loop with a buddy on his VFR1200. Good ride albeit windy. Got home, washed it, and checked the spokes in preparation for my ride to Montana the Wednesday after Memorial Day. ::012::

Rode 1523 miles doing a Nevada BBG. Lights are good in the NV night. The Super Ten didn't skip a beat. The latest round of farkles all passed the test with flying colors. Just wish I had gotten the CC done in time, but that will have to get tested later. Mechanically installed, wiring left to do.

FYI - Michelin Pilot Road 3s last about 8500 miles if you're easy on tires and 2700 if you're hard on them. Disappointing. There were two complete failures thru the cord during the event I was participating in, both PR3s. Mine was to the wear bars before the event, and smooth in the center by the time I road another 150 miles to get a new tire. The Anakee 3 lost some tread depth during my ride, but was otherwise ok. Very little dirt testing though.

Rode from Sacramento to Paso Robles the long way. Beautiful though a bit windy.

Took off my HB Xplorer topbox as it has cracks and I thought i'd save it for essential journeys only until I sort out a replacement (I'm also waiting for the epoxy I used on the cracks to seal/set) and wow the bike feels like a supermotard. Didn't realise how much the rear T'Bpx weight had made the cornering a bit sluggish, even though most of the time all it held was the puncture repair kit and some odds and sods .

Keep your distances!

Let's go riding! ::008::
Dang, they look good!

That's what makes the Tenere mean business.

Let me know if you can get 4k out of that rear. (you won't) For me, that's the magic number. :)

Well :( that would be surprising... :'(
Most of my milleage this time is commuting to work, 38km on slab :(, 2 km on gravel ::26::, twice a day...

I don't expect great milleage, but hey, when i want to ride off-road now there's a lot less worry ::008::

I'll keep you posted!

Hey, I would rather be wrong!

But regardless, that's the way to roll on this machine. :)

I too get a short run of dirt each day on my commute. Less than 2km you get though. Would have to ride around the property some to stretch it out.

Great looking bike you have.

My 600 mile inspection and oil changes. Also I took some pictures of the Rumbux soft luggage racks I got from Eric V. Awesome racks very stout and top quality. Fits perfect and adds some protection. Just what I was looking for. ::015::
