Well last week I did this:

So I ordered the Altrider rack and today I did this:

$250 I wasn't planning on spending, but I'm very happy with the result and proof that it's a worthwhile farkle IMO as the OEM rack isn't tough enough for the job really. ::008::

Rode 270 miles in Eastern PA twisted roads and crossed the 1000 mark on the ODO. All the ergo work of the last few weeks came together ::003::, could have done another 200 miles if it wasn’t for mothers day….. :-[

Ergo included, long lines with Rox 2’’ risers, grip puppies, and MadStad bracket with no buffeting.

I'm predicting that you have conquered the one element that has soured a few folks on their new Tenere. If\when you get the ergos right on this machine, nothing stands between you and any adventure that you choose to embark on. You are now destined to enjoy the heck out of your Tenere. Congrats.

Finally got around to installing my Piaa 1100 leds. They are very compact and fit perfectly into the small space between the HB engine guards and the bodywork. Added the Skene dimmer and initially had it set on 50 percent brightness for low beam (going 100 percent when I hit the high beam) but they were still far too bright at night so I set them for 20 percent. Not much light output at 20 percent but they still make the bike a bit more conspicuous at night (if the other six lights don't do the trick ::025::). Nice and bright at night when I hit the high beams, providing both good distance and fill.

My Tenere took me for a birthday ride today. Pulled over to have a drink in the shade as it hit 90 degrees and back off we went. Got in 90 miles today and half of that was gravel. She's now dirty again as it should be...
And yes I know, that's one fugly top box. But for $30 I can over look that 8)

Shocked my wife and cleaned it :)
I stopped short of my normal parking spot up on the back porch. Put it on the centerstand. Then got out a bucket and a soft wash mit. Made a nice soap solution up and carried it all over by the Tenere.

Got the hose turned on for a quick presoak.

But then before a single drop was sprayed on the bike, I looked over at my truck parked just beside it. I hardly ever drive it. Just sits there and gathers bird doo, dust, and general pollen from living in the woods. I aimed the hose at it.

Spent the next 1 1/2 hours washing my truck.

Saved my wife from the shock.

Plus it will stop a bullet. Nice re-purposing.

Installed AltRider Crash Bars (hate that phrase). Looks good, right side cover clears nicely. Removed the rubbers from the foot pegs. Re-evaluated my tool kit. Need to add an 8mm socket.

Sunset test ride!!!

Fitted the SW-Motech GPS Holder.

This holder is advertised as not compatible with the side wind deflectors - I had to modify mine.

Next project;

Cleaned the bugs off of it. Cleaned and Raised the windshield. Checked the tire pressures. Ordered a pair of Michelin Anakee 3's. Bought oil and filter for an oil change tomorrow.

Rode home from Vegas yesterday (was there for work all week). Happened across caferacer99 in Wikieup, AZ, as he was heading to the Outdoor Expo in Prescott.

My Montana GPS arrived while I was gone, so I'll be getting it installed on the tank bag this weekend. I also need to readjust and tighten my left rear view mirror again...I'm also waiting for the OnX light bar to arrive, and I need to order the OEM style switches for the electrical. I plan on using the Versys style left cluster and the 2013 FJR right cluster...

Today, I mounted the Garmin 650 with ram mount and garmin rugged harness. It's wired “hot” for now, but thanks to this forum I'm going to order the FZ-1. I'm thinking about a windshield mount but I didn't have much trouble reading the map (garmin display did flip 90° a couple of times when accelerating to hwy speed) with this mount on a quick turn around town tonight.

The top box is the dirt-cheap Garage Pro from jcwhitney, detailed on this forum - $44.95 bought me 18 (more) miles/day of backroads & a few twisties (I carry a laptop for work). Lil brother XT350 is in the background.
