Where did you get the two brackets to mount the reservoir and adjuster?
Today I discovered that the brackets are included the purchase. It will be nice to get the new Ohlins installed and tested.

I hope "yesterday" counts with this thread. Yesterday, I brought my brand new 2013 Gray Super Tenere home, where he belongs. He's sitting in my garage even as I type. And a handsome beast he is. He even makes ME look good. Should be able to get him out of the driveway by early next week. Already got the K-60's on him. Heated grips have been backordered for now. But hey, it's only getting down to minus 20 still at night. Who needs 'em ????

Heh heh heh R ::008::

Congratulation again Rem, soon you'll be riding it, probably comparing it the other one you had.

It's hard to complain here when I see people dealing with bigger challenges then I have to deal with. I've also been waiting to ride mine because of the whether, 6 weeks at the dealer waiting for the rear shock, now we finally have decent weather (+8c +10c 50F) . Do to a miner surgery to my leg I can't ride for another week or two, hopefully another week.

AltRider sent me a shiny new skid plate .. well, I think it was new :) Some dings and gouges on the inside due to a slip up in packaging. One of the brackets (the big one) kinda got free of its padding and carved it's initials on the inside of the plate. Either that or it's a message for help from someone off planet; can't really make it out.
Anyway, since it's on the inside and not too big I'll not worry about it (or am I worrying by posting about it) and bolt it on for some hopefully sunny weather this weekend.
Gonna go see about the noise abatement effort first. If I remember, truck bed liner or some other heavy spray deadens the ringing. Looking forward to some sunshine!

This one is already better .... ::025:: ::025:: As soon as we get a bit more snow melt, I'll take it out of the garage and post some pics. The roads are just about ... almost ... pretty well .... damn near .... free of ice and snow. Minus 20 this morning but soaring up to freezing in the afternoon. Looking good. Bike looks awesome. Sounds awesome, too. Gettin' 'er done. Thanks. R

Geez, and I was complaining last week because I had to ride to work in frigid upper 40's and it was only getting into low 60's. Congrats on the knew ride.

Yes, stop your complaining. Some of us are still waiting for the snow to go away.

My son-in-law and I rode a few of the most excellent central California coast roads this morning.

BTW, camping across the street from us are the parents of moto-photo-grapher Kevin Wing.

Temps hit mid 40's by noon today so I woke my STeed up from its long winter's nap. ::012:: She fired right up and I rode to work. The sweet sound of the engine was music to my ears after 4 long months of no riding. Everyone at work said I was grinning all afternoon. ::015::

Happy Easter everyone. Ride safe!

It was from J C Whitney. I looked and it's not listed any more.
What brand is it, might be able to find it somewhere else.

This is the one I have. It is sturdy and looks more "appropriate" for the Tenere:

Did my 4K service, changed out the rear differential oil, installed my PIAA LP530's, then went for a little 200 mile day to celebrate. It was chilly this morning, I almost wanted to put in my wind liner. ::008:: Darned Florida weather ::013::

Installed the ALtRider Skid Plate yesterday. All told, a relatively easy install except that my fingers are challeneged to make some of the bolt-thru-washer-to-nut connections in the tight places. Now that it is done, I may have to practice a few times to get the alleged "...it only takes 5 minutes to remove the plate for the oil change" skills built up.

I received the plate with a few blemishes pre-installed (I guess that's pre-stressed; glad I didn't pay extra). The packaging was all good except for one corner of the included hardware wrap-up. It wore through and kinda gouged out a few marks on the inside. It'll be barely noticeable and I don't think I want to go through the hoops of sending for a replacement. One corner weld looked a bit sloppy, but the rest of the craftsmanship was very good. Brackets aligned perfectly on the bike, everything tightened up nicely. The instructions have a couple of cute glithches ("Remove and retain these bolts, you won't be using them later".) and one mis-step on right-vs-left on the final tighteneng sequence. I wish they'd revamp the instruction papers, the black-and-white using a dirty bike do make the pics hard to decipher.

There is a close clearance (also, as previously posted) between the leftmost point on the oil filter and a mounting bolt. I think it is too tight, but I also think that it would take quite a good push from just the right angle to bend things in that direction.

As with earlier posters, I had concenrs about the increased noise that mounting up a chunk of aluminum would bring, but it was surprisingly unnoticeable on my test ride. That saves me tearing it back off for a coat of bed liner or the like.

Nice out now so I'm heading out for some more shakedown. ::013::

Anyway, I found the perfect spot for a new little sticker that guys familiar with big round engines should recognize:

Most excellent Joe. ::008::

I re-installed my shock after Lindeman Engineering did a spring swap for me. I now have an 1100 lb Hyperco spring instead of the 649 lb stocker. Haven't taken it for a ride yet, but will be sorting the sag and settings tomorrow, front and rear. With this much improvement in the rear, I'll need to re-adjust the front. I may end up having the forks re-sprung too, but wanted to take it in stages. $135 for the re-spring and shipping back to me via USPS Priority Mail. http://www.le-suspension.com/shock-services/
