Installed the doubletake rear view mirrors. Had the Riderscan centerview thing and it worked but with the new windshield there was more air coming up through the center and my attachment system wasn't the best and the zip ties to keep it from moving didn't impress me with the looks. The Riderscan worked but I wasn't using it as much as I thought I would and integrating what I was using it for into the stock position rear view mirrors is on the table. Here is the difference in the two mirrors, and $150. TBD whether it is worth it.

Should have included, the lock washers are only meant to be used with right hand threads, not left hand that the right mirror uses. So I used medium loctite. And if you look at the picture you can see the amount of thread exposed to screw into the base is less with the new mirror. 3/8” AN washers can be stacked 9 high to give maximum thread engagement and gives about a 1/4” of additional thread engagement and the od is same as the bushing. 1/4” AN washers can be used on the thumb screw tension adjustment in place of the thin pos washer they include for that and it fits the recess perfectly. Good day!

Too bad you couldn't just purchase the mirrors the new CFMoto Ibex 450 uses. One side has opposite threads just like the Yamaha, and they have a clever way of folding out of the way on trails.

Always a dollar short and a day late. Looks like a good alternative and cheaper. Probably still supported china in an indirect way :). I did get to sit on one at the dealership prior to the ST purchase but I was going for track record and aftermarket support at the time. The sales told me CF intent was to be established with the top brands in so many years and looked like they were on their way.

Fitted a new Yausa 14 battery along with a heavy duty charging tail to replace the Optimate one that I put on when I got the bike. The new tail will allow me to connect straight to my Antigravity XP1 and start the bike from flat. The Optimate tail is not up to starting and will melt if you put a big enough fuse in.

I said the mirrors, not the bike! ;)

They are definitely worth it to me!
I love my set, and consider it a nice upgrade over the factory mirrors.
Have to give them two thumbs up. Took them out on the highway and maybe because the glass was clean, but the extra few inches outward helps to see around the arms. No vibration, everything set on first run with just a little adjustment.

Installed Noco NLP14 LiFePo4 battery. So much more powerful than the old gel battery which was still in good condition. Trip-1 & 2, Range and Fuel avg reset to zero when changing the battery... if I remember correctly they all wake up after a short trip?
Can't go for a test drive yet, but the snow is already melting and summer is coming.

I just received the NOCO NLP14. Sitting in a box waiting for the install. Glad to read your positive report. Thanks!

I bought one as test several months ago for one of the TDM900s and it's been so good, I did the other one and bought one for the S10.
Far superior in every way!

I've been using one for a year now. Call it 50k kms. Works awesome. Longest it at in that whole time was 16 days, no noticeable difference in performance.

Would love to hear how the flashed Ecu works for you once you get it out.
Okay, got out today for about 80 miles with the bike having a flashed ECU, Arrow headers, and Yoshimura slip-on. I don't know about you, but i grew up loving the sound of a Harley, but now that I could afford a Harley, I find that i don't think they will suit my riding style. With the new exhaust, I have now something that has the right growl and burble. It's not a Harley, but it sounds awesome - the way it should!

Second, the power output is excellent. I'm not launching wheelies, but it seems to pull even harder than before and more smoothly through the rev range. I admit that the sound intensifies the feeling of more power, but i think it is real, too.

As far as the herky jerky throttle, I didn't have an issue with that too much before - mostly in-town in traffic. Today's ride was not in that environment, so I didn't really get a great sense how different the fuel cut off is post- ECU flash.

To each his own, but these mods will make me smile every time I turn the throttle.

Finally, I was fortunate to have the funds to throw at the bike. If I didn't, I wouldn't have done these mods, but I would still love the S10 nevertheless.

That's my quick report back. I hope it helps in your decision making.

FWIW, I used 2 Wheeldynoworks to flash the ECU.

Your experience fully aligns with what I have personally observed. After experiencing the Super Tenere with the full exhaust and tune, I could never return to stock.

Not a big project but fun nonetheless.

I added a Denali B6 brake light and a separate (“California legal” 4 flash) flasher. All wiring installed to facilitate a return to OEM if needed.

I’m not sure if I like the B6 as a running light - it is very bright and washed out the OEM running (brake) light. So I added a remote switch to turn the B6 running light function on & off (see arrow) in order to evaluate over time.

Did a valve check and adjustment today. 3 exhaust valves were just over the tight limit. I adjusted all 4 exhaust though. The number 2 coil was stuck in the head. Pulled the rubber boot up and shot wd40 in there a few times. Wiggled it back and forth till it loosened up. Got it out with no damage. However i could not get that plug out! Ok i was afraid to try it any further. They have low miles on them just left that for another day. Just got it back together and fired it up then noticed the injury from the valve cover install! Haha. No wonder they charge so much for this job.
